I notice the Evac is locked, yet you are able to still pull slack out of the system. Is that a feature of the device?

Just a heads up. I never knew this until my assessment day but you have to control the ASAP trailing line whilst lowering a load:)

Petzl make no such requirement or recommendation. Unfortunately assessors get to play god on assessment day.

Adam Long actually Petzl DOES make that a requirement when using it in this system, link below. The complaint of petzl is how expensive their gear is. They are like the iPhones of the climbing world.

very true, but if it is industrial/work not hobby you need the confidence/reliability + you need the equipment supplied with a certificate of conformity for your paperwork/records and only some manufacturers (Petzl, DMM, etc, do that). If you're high up and nervous, would you feel better with Petzl or some weird Chinese copy you got on amazon for suspiciously little money?
