Great video. Thanks! How about, at the junction of the ropes, simply tying BOTH ropes together in an alpine butterfly creating your Y (I hope that makes sense)? So a rope coming from the left, a rope coming from the right and, near the parapet, both tied together in a single alpine. And then repeat for back-up. I think it used to be called a window washers rig. It's also a very quick way to rig many wide y hangs when time is a factor. Would this still be considered acceptable today? Thanks again.

Great video. I’d like to have seen the preload tension on the rope at each stage prior to adding the weight. I’ve been on courses where they have simply refused the idea that the preloading make a difference. Does it or doesn’t it?

If this was implemented on a diagonal tension line, would you need to double up the directional haul lines?

Love this technique, thought I’d chime in if you’re ropes are hanging off the edge of a building for instance maybe cleaning windows, consider any sharp edges like flashing or aggregate that you may be dragging your lines across when moving the deviation. Lost a few good ropes this way❤
@caseybarkley73703 ай бұрын
Also, if you tie your knot at the anchor and put the IDs at the deviation point you won’t have to run as far to adjust and you can get to the pub earlier, cheers!

I have a question for the casualties rope's i see he has both ropes through one anchor shouldn't he have the ropes through to separate anchor points i know this is a mock rescue and understand the concept my question is if that anchor point was to fall you would have lost the casualty before youd even attempted the rescue

probably should not hang your rack rope pro over the edge before its tied off.....just sayin

Wouldn’t it be better to tie an double alpine as an bfk and clip both carabiners in. To me it looks like the alpine could be pulled through the crab…

In my opinion, it is quite dangerous not to tie a self-releasing stop knot under the Deviation. Wath if you're in bell, or/and there's wind, gusts? It will be impossible to reach or pull the ropes accordingly. You saw it, made a joke, and posted it anyway!?! You have errors in the old videos too! Be more careful boy! Please don't die fellows!! Cheers to an even number!!!

I'm visiting again... still a great video w/ great rigging principles exhibited. I love the fact that you utilized two rigging plates, because you're avoiding a single failure point. Around here, whenever I mention using two rigging plates together, they look at me like i have two d&@3ks...

Fun fact! what you call an overhand knot, is effectively a water knot, which is the only rated knot for webbing!
