Now that corn silage harvest is finished we have been busy covering those acres with manure and seeding triticale and rye as cover crops to be harvested as spring forage. This video shows that process including drone shots and a pretty bad breakdown on our John Deere no-till drill. Thanks for watching.

Need more parents like his in this world. Who are not weak and don't give up. The farming industry is the most difficult to become profitable in. With our economy on a spare wheel his parents ,himself, and the cows they take care of are going to start feeling it.

In an _a-ha_ moment, your comments crystallized, for me, the concept of the soil as a farm's primary asset. Admittedly, it's an obvious convention, but I've not fully appreciated the value of that attribute until hearing your remarks. While not in the least pedantic, it was the casual nature of your explanation of the methods and means you routinely follow that firmly planted that notion in the sometimes less-than-fertile furrows in my brain. Thanks.

I was completely ignorant to farming and what actually goes into it, the hard work and dedication to keep the nation and the world fed. I began playing Farming Simulator 17 because being in lockdown and since playing that I have found a secret passion. . .FARMING! Thank you to the folks of old and present for what they do and I greatly appreciate this young man for schooling me on farming.

Just a quick note to say thank you for your videos. You have an excellent work ethic. You'd be a great squad leader in my Marine Corps any day. My family used to grow sugar cane in Puerto Rico (PR is a US Commonwealth) in the early 1900s but by the 1940s the big American sugar companies had an advantage over the local sugar plantation owners and they were driving out of business. I was born and raised in NYC and your videos are a wealth of education about family-run farming. As a sidebar: I have disdained for the mega-beef industry here in northern California for the way they treat their beef cows and employees but, that is another story. I had a dozen questions for you but, as a person who spent 22 years in the Marines and 19 years in law enforcement (retired last March) and taught in classroom settings, it's always best to wait to the end. So, after watching a bunch of your videos most of my questions were answered. I do have 2 questions: you never mention anything about the smell. It has to be an overwhelming and disagreeable smell. And, finally what is the name of the background music you play in many of the videos? 🐄

Being 2nd gen off the farm, I could smell that liquid manure! It would only be worse if it was hogs. (We raised hogs.) I really enjoy your videos! No fake drama. Just the kind of work ethic that has always built our country.

Great video, much respect for you and just so you know, We all LOVE our farmers, many of us never knew what actually goes on in farming until many of you started KZbin channels and now we all know, their is so much more to it than just farming, its a trade that requires many talent, you have to be Dr, a mechanic, a fixer of many things, a cleaner a milker and on and on it goes and you show us how much work it really is in a way that is beneficial for us non farmers to get a clue and to learn to appropriate the hard work farmers do on a continual basis and provide, for us... thank you

You do a great job of your videos man! I am from Saskatchewan Canada and I grew up on a farm. My dad used to seed with a 12 foot John Deere Hoe Drill so your drill reminds me of ours. We were small grain farmers. I have some neighbors who are Dairy farmers and I worked on one Dairy for a while. I find them very interesting and can appreciate all of the work that goes into them. They are busy places!! It looks like the farms there are very close together. Here they are miles apart and also our fields are divided into quarter sections and are usually farmed by the quarter. Its crazy how broken up yours are! I like that you aren't shy to show that you are a Christian and I like that your videos are clean. The Mountain Dew thing is hilarious. I don't blame you for drinking them you need the energy! Again man good job on your videos one of my favorite farming channels!! Take Care!

Your video's should be mandatory viewing in high school's up here in the North East. To show how hard young farmers work every day. Really, you are constantly working. You should be proud ! Now, kids up here are given brand new cars to drive to high school ! They are given spending money. Many don't even have summer jobs !! God forbid !! They don't have "chores".! I haven't even seen any young people cutting their parents lawn in years !!! Their parents do it or hire a company to come in and cut it ! I don't even see kids shoveling their driveways when it snows !! Its freaky !! We all had to do it !! We all worked, bought our own cars, with our own money ! Cut our grass ! Has paper routes ! Had jobs after school, and full time jobs from the day we graduated till retirement age !! I only knew one or two lazy kids growing up....and they are lazy adults today. Now....there are only a few good kids doing their daily "chores" these days. The rest are playing video games or are racing around in their cars, spending someone's hard earned pay !! You're a good young man !! peace.

Tote bags can be a pain! Essential if your drill won't hold the whole thing. Most of the bags we get have bottom holes... You could use the hole, it's got a sock that comes out so you can guide it over the drill ... Save the $20- $25 per bag. We reuse them. Too bad JD didn't put windows in the box on that one... Does make it nice.. we used to borrow a great plains no till, it had a float with a Guage on the front, it was nice too😎 Repair looks good.. hopefully they put a slug inside.. get rid of JD engineered weak spot... Thanks for the video!!!!
