With just a few inches on either side of the travel lift, we haul Pauita out of the water for the winter. My bow thruster was not working and I had to back into the travel lift by just backing and filling. It's videos like these that after editing, I really wish I had used another camera to show the aft view.

interesting thing about travel lifts is they use out of service tires from airliners. If you examine them you'll see something like "not rated for more than 200 mph" molded into the rubber.

@@dhenschel4 that’s pretty funny! I’m living in FL now, but I grew up about 10 miles from where Tim’s boat is now. Seeing General Dynamics across the river was a dead give-away for me. They build submarines there. In fact, it’s the reason we moved to CT back in the early 60’s. My dad was a welder and found work there. Neon Chicken is a little place right around Burr’s Marina.

Capt. Tim, I know how it feels to see your boat come out of its element. We were hauled in mid Oct. I know that our marina has hauled our boat many times but it still is pretty nerve wracking to watch her come up and out .. we also are right at the limit of the travel lift with our 43 foot Hatteras. Looks like they did a great job for you. CUOTO, James

Thank you for watching Art. That actually was my original plan. But logistics and timing got in the way. There aren't many yards that let you do your own work anymore and I need to be able to fly in and out or take the train in and out. If I do things right, I hope to never have to haul her out for the winter again. 🤞 CUOTO

Well done on the back and fill number one with an Island Packet and number two the wind really working against you. Had mine pulled three times and only once did they almost drop it. Notice the folding prop was not folding; growth? Happy sailing.
