I never thought I'd see the day you bought a pound and a half of Haunted Bookshop. That's beautiful. HB is one of my favorite blends. I just scored a tin of Wessex Burley Slice myself. I've had my share of burley flakes but never came across that one.

I ordered some Old Joe for the 20% off to. I always buy the bulk. They'll be 2 pounds getting ordered first of next year. Gonna get at least a pound of haunted bookshop too. I'm gonna have to grab some of the HBS cake to sample too. Have a great week Brian.

I remember gifting 8oz of Haunted Bookshop to Matches860 back in the day. I use to be big into the YTPC back in the day with One Man Smoke, Woody76, John Kellar, Jayson Dagner, Alex (Abird) and Mark (The Pipe Commader) just to name a few. I remember Mark sending me bricks of the original Mississippi River when he would buy it in bulk. We were big on IG and shared gifts/pipes/tobacco between all of us and it just seemed to die out a little and most of us lost interest. I was a Distinguished Ruffian and a member of the Pipe and Beard Club too if you remember them. Lol. I remember Jason Bruno (WV Mountain man) and I had contacted Jake Hackert to make us a bent pipe about 7 years hrs ago and that thing smoked like a freight train. I remember having Hackerts, Case, OMS, Dagners and Boswell pipes just to name a few. I sold everything pipe related that I had a few years ago and I really wish I had that stuff back now. Lol. Sorry to hack your comments. I was just reminiscing about the good ole days

@@welshpiper62 Hello. I’m not back in the community, I only follow Beans316. As far as the earliest YTPC video, that might be One Man Smoke. He was filming 12 years ago. Alex (Boston Briar)(ABird) has deleted his videos and so has Mark (The Pipe Commander) these are the earliest ones that I know of

@@welshpiper62 one of the first pipe smoking videos i saw on this platform was some time in 07 and i think the guys channel name was pipe friend chs or something similar. there was already a small community at that time including several from the u.k., Sweden and Canada. and more i dont remember. pretty sure all those guy's channels are long gone. i think nwpipesmoker came along a couple years later. 09 maybe. thats around the time i started watching regularly. couldn't say exactly when it was but i remember when it seemed like there were several distinct KZbin pipe communities that sort of loosely centered around a handful of popular presenters that seemed largely unaware of each other. then around perhaps 2012 to 14 the different communities started blending more. often enough at that time i could tell who a new presenter had been watching by the style or format they followed in their first several videos before they kinda found their own style. interesting stuff. mostly lost to internet history now

Hey Brian, I've noticed that the bulk forms seem to be just a bit drier than the tins from C & D. What I like about the bulk is that it is a chance to get a small amount to try and see how you might like something. Speaking of C & D I am looking forward to some more Carolina Red Flake, coming out at a decent time. I noticed they did the same thing with Merry Old St Nicholas, which for a holiday aromatic, it is pretty good. I had gotten three tins back in 2018 and have saved one that will reach 4 years in October. I'm glad they are releasing at a decent time so everyone has a chance to place an order without having to wait up late. Have a great week ahead.

Bulk is nice unless your Canadian. I bought 1lb of Pure Virginia when smoking pipes had that sale. Got dinged for duty $153.00 almost 3 times for what I paid for the stuff. 😭

Asked a few haunted bookshop fans what they thought about the bulk vs the tins...they said the exact thing but we're firm on the cake form of haunted bookshop saying it just adds an extra step between them and smoking....I thought it might age better and added a few tins to my last order...bulk will be next...been smoking it like crazy this summer...thanks for the review... sorry I could not make the Ohio show... maybe I'll make the Boswells Meetup

I like haunted bookshop. I only sampled it in bulk. It needs a bit more than 15mins drying time. For me, it's a reliable all day blend because I used to smoke cigarettes. This and Elizabethan are my all day smokes, haunted bookshop being the more "edgy" stuff, i.e when I wake up or after meals or with coffee. I was not very curious to buy a tub of it, and after this video, I am reassured.

Curiosly, the 1lb sealed bag i got was perfectly fine and not as dry as a bone Everytime i got 2 or 4oz cames in reaaaaaaly dry and tastes not so good :/ 🤷‍♂️ Havent opened a tin with under a year age so ...the freshness might be the issue aslo
