Some Things I want to add: First, you can see Part 3 by following this link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKi7aIinhLJ2q7s Also: like I said in the first video, you don't need to believe the stories. I don't expect you to, I have nothing to prove, I get nothing out of you believing the stories. After all, I think everyone knows I can't scientifically prove these things happened, so just relax and enjoy the Halloween entertainment. People have a lot on their minds and themed videos like these provide entertainment. Lastly: PLEASE do not trespass into the Audio/Storage rooms of the park or any other cast member's-only places I mentioned in this video. Yes they may be haunted, but just remember that Disneyland is a secured place...you don't want to be mistaken for someone who is up to no good. And you don't want to be banned from the park, especially if you have an annual pass...because banned guests and annual passholders do NOT get refunded any percentage of the money they spent on admission!

I personally never liked their cookies and ice cream. I remember each morning we got two massive tubs of cookies, freshly baked that morning from the central bakery of the resort. Did we serve them that day? NEVER. Those tubs waited in the storage room a minimum of two days before they made it into the guests hands and by then they were stale. I asked my lead, "we get two tubs every morning, why don't we just serve the fresh cookies?" She just shook her head: "the company insists we do it this way."

This creeps me out because my usual place to chill in the late afternoon while at Disneyland is the Golden Horseshoe on the second floor. I usually pick a table on the right that has good views of the stage…and that usually has me super close to the audio room. I will typically get a root beer float, enjoy the show, and then take a nap face down on the table for about 30 minutes while my girlfriend rides a ride or two and then we continue on with our day. I wonder if Freddy or whatever else picked up on my respect for Disneyland and decided to not bother me…(or maybe that doesn’t matter at all) or that or Im naturally terrible at detecting “paranormal vibes”, etc I wonder if I go back knowing what I know from these videos and these comments I'll sense something different.

This is an awesome part 2, Alex. Can I add a fourth type of ghost to your "tragedy, trauma, or unfinished business" paradigm? I call it the "intensity" ghost, the little girl is this type. Like Freddy, she is aware of what's going on around her. Imagine a young girl (or even an old woman) who loves Disneyland with all her being, but she dies before she can go on a planned vacation, the GH is her favorite location in the park (she's a Wally Boag fan). In her spirit state she is a little girl in her perfect place. She plays on stage, interacts with guests, and toys with CMs. She is truly a playful sprite. As for the cigar smoke, I would guess it falls into a "permanent impression" of Walt, not Walt himself. Walt was a perfectionist with an intense love of his park. He's left an impression on it. You're not the first person I've heard of that's seen a "guest" by the ROA in the early morning. The chairs in Walt's box were moved by the impression because Walt liked them that way. The impression does not interact and is predictable. It is a nice thought to think that if Walt is around, he watches over his park like a doting grandfather.
@christinehorror81784 жыл бұрын
Love the story about Walt. My sister had a similar experience, my grandfather when he was alive would sit in the dinning room and smoke his cigarettes. He died almost 30 years ago and the house has been cleaned up and rented to other people for about 10 years with nonsmokers. Then my sister moved in. And on occasion shed walk into the dinning room and smell cigarette smoke but just in that area. So crazy!

Hey Alex! Thank you for the stories. How COOL. I'm a former cast member. Worked park deco and Im fairly sure the "personal items" you found in Freddie's room were from the props dept. We had things stashed for quick access to dress balconies especially in new orleans and frontier land. But I don't doubt your stories, especially with regards to The Golden Horseshoe. It always felt different in there. Plugged in, so to speak. Even before I worked for the park, as a guest, it was one of my favorite places because it felt...inhabited. I never had any experiences there myself and now I am kicking myself for not exploring more thoroughly!

Great video, man. I've only experienced a "spooky" event once in my life and it's deeply impressed on me. The part where you spoke about the "ambient feeling" or the shift in how the air felt, that really resonated with me. The moments leading up to that event, the evening of that day, I could feel the air in the house and around me just... thickened. Like it is still quite hard for me to capture the feeling of that feeling but the air just felt like it became a lot denser, a lot... heavier, like I could actually feel the pressure of the air on me. Now mind you I was not aware of what was about to happen that night and I have never had anything like that happen to me ever before so I was completely oblivious and therefore caught off guard. It is crazy, I now refer to the sensation as the heralding.

I grew up at Disneyland, we all have to be from somewhere, and i can also confirm Walt is still around. I've smelt cigarette smoke in his apartment above Pirates. Enjoyed this video. Never spent much time at the Golden Horseshoe, something was always off putting, now i know why.
@AlextheHistorian3 жыл бұрын
Thats interesting, the apartment above pirates wasn't constructed until 1987, 21 years after Walt's death. But it was used as a storage space, and cast members were known for taking breaks in storage spaces, it could have been the presence of a former worker long since past!
@chefdan86613 жыл бұрын
@@AlextheHistorian it's true, but they blocked off that area to cast members in the 2000's and yet it still was there. @@AlextheHistorian that doesn’t surprise me. I used to work at a living history museum in Michigan that was rumored to be haunted. I’d heard many of the stories and several of my coworkers and I had experiences we couldn’t explain. Like active cast members, we were forbidden from confirming that validity of said stories and, in fact, the official stance of our bosses is that the park isn’t haunted. If guests pressed the issue, I had ways of debunking the stories. Some were-in reality-nothing more then guests seeing employees on break as they involved one of the break rooms. Others, depending on the story, I would chalk up to a child’s active imagination or urban legend.

Thanks Eric! Though I didn't say it in the video, I don't believe Walt haunts Disneyland, I think the ghost that moved the chair in his booth wasn't necessarily him. I think the cigar smoke could have just been a type of residual experience, but not necessarily the ghost of a person...just a ghost of a situation: Walt smoking. But I personally don't believe Walt is a ghost, I think ghosts are of people who either suffered sadness, trauma, or had unfinished business...from what I know, Walt lived a very satisfied life, surrounded by people he loved...I just can't imagine him being tragic enough to stay behind.

Great video Alex, thanks....I love hearing from CM's on this subject! One question, all of the pictures of Walt at the Golden Horse Shoe (that I've seen) show him in the upstairs booth, stage left, so I always assumed that was his private booth, but I can't find confirmation. Was his booth the upstairs or downstairs one?
@AlextheHistorian4 жыл бұрын
He's sat in each one once in a while, and to be honest there's no way to prove which one was his or even if he had a favorite, we just labeled them as "Walt and Roy's booths" it was an unofficial-official designation. So when a lead would tell me, "Guests asked to have their table wiped in the booth" I would ask "which one" and the lead would say "Roy's Booth" or "Walt's Booth" and that way we knew which one. When I first began working there I asked why they called them that and they just said "That's where the brothers would sit with their families." I'd be surprised if Walt preferred the upper booths, I've been in them and they offer horrible views of the stage, if you sit down in a chair up against the railing you still get only a partial view of the stage and even then, you're looking down at the tops of the actors heads.

Maybe Freddy since he was a third-shift Cast Member, he wants to keep Disneyland looking nice, and since he used to get to his room from Golden Horseshoe it makes sense that he would be in that building only at night. I would like to think that Freddy is simply trying to keep the Golden Horseshoe in good condition since you said that if you were lazy, you'd see stuff, and if you were working hard you wouldn't see anything since Freddy cleaned a lot supposedly...

That's for two reasons: 1) Disney wants their parks to be famous for being the happiest places on earth, they don't want the publicity of being haunted because it ruins the illusion. 2) Mickey's Halloween party is an event that is designed to be friendly even to infants...Disney parks are among the very few entertainment venues that take a light-hearted approach to Halloween...everywhere else you go, they have entertainment and mazes designed for teenagers and up. So people need a place to celebrate Halloween as a family, and Disney Parks are the best thing for that...so the last thing they would want is to draw attention to the park being haunted.

I've never heard of or experienced anything paranormal in or around there. Walt really only spent the night there, he was so busy he never really had time to "hang out". When he stayed overnight, he'd leave the apartment at 6am, have breakfast at Carnation Cafe (Main Street), or Aunt Jemima Pancake House (Frontierland), and by 7:30am he was sitting by himself in his booth at Golden Horseshoe, smoking his morning cigar. After the cigar, he'd sit on a bench along the river until the park opened at 9 or 10am, and he'd watch the crowds explore Disneyland until they noticed him and swarmed him.

Hello Alex. Just to let you know, I am a HUGE fan of yours. I was just at Disneyland about a week ago, and went to the Golden Horseshoe, remembering everything you stated in your video about the place. I am wondering, Walt Disney's booth; I know you stated in was on the right of the stage. Was it on the bottom floor, or the top floor? Also, the booth of Walt's where you stated that the chairs would somehow be pulled up to the edge with no one to put them there, was that in the bottom booth, or the top booth, to the right of the stage? Thank you.

When I worked there, we called Walt's Booth the one on the bottom level on the right. Some books say his booth or "box" was the one above that. But we cast members referenced the bottom level when talking about Walt's booth. That was the same booth where I talked about the chair being pulled up to the edge.

@@AlextheHistorian Thank you for responding. Do you know if Walt Disney used to sit in the bottom booth? I actually sat in that bottom booth about a week ago. I definitely felt spiritual energy there, and felt like I was being watched, especially while sitting in the booth.

Well its like I was saying, we as cast members always said Walt sat in the booth at the bottom, but books say he sat in the one at the top. The only photographic evidence either way shows him and his family standing in the booth above. But I personally believe his true box, the one he preferred was on the bottom level. It has a great view of the show and didn't require climbing the staircase at the front of the restaurant.

@@AlextheHistorian I actually thought that as well. If he sat at the top booth, he would have had to look at the top of the performer's heads, which would not have been a great view of the show. Thank you for your responses. I am actually hoping to make an episode on my Humboldt Paranormal youtube channel, talking about paranormal stories that have come out of Disneyland, and hope to reference your stories in the episode.

Have you heard of any personal paranormal stories coming out of the "It's a Small World" ride? There seem to be many paranormal tales associated with the ride. Not sure if any of them are true or not.

No I haven't. Every paranormal story I've heard from others is in Part 3 of this series.

I heard that the version of It’s a Small World that is haunted is the Magic Kingdom version in Florida, in Disneyland the areas the seem haunted are the Tomorrowland tunnels, the Disneyland Hotel and as mentioned in the videos the Golden Horseshoe

No, that's all the significant stories I have. Everything else I have is just randomness that doesn't have a story like: seeing a shadow in the corner of my eye, or feeling the presence of freddy, or seeing a person in the mirror...there's nothing more to it that I haven't already said in these two videos.

Would quit after the mirrors honestly, cudos to you for staying around the park after that much activity even if you didn't believe in the paranormal at that time. My childhood house was vey haunted and I had similar experiences when i was really young in my bedroom and basement. I don't usually mess with anything ghost related or even like listening to stories like these usually as a result. But for some reason I don't mind theme park related ones, especially when its fairly innocent experiences like Walt visiting the park or the friendly blonde girl, those ones are almost as wholesome as they are weird and unexplainable. Thanks for sharing your experiences and helping me know to never set foot in the Golden Horseshoe lmao.

I have a theory that it’s not Freddy. That it’s something else..something more sinister….something that actually took Freddy and caused his death. It wouldn’t be surprising that he had a heart attack as a result of fear. I don’t see why Freddy would be mean to employees. So I believe it’s something else :/
@AlextheHistorianАй бұрын
Freddy, while he was alive, was a gruff and stern man. He certainly would have been mean to other employees. From my own experience, I've met a lot of mean people who were my co-workers. No I think the spirit of Freddy really was Freddy. He admired people who were serious about their jobs and anyone who fooled about was on his radar.
