the man in the electric chair was legitimately upsetting, like the animatronic rigging for that one was a little too lifelike
@GeorgiaGeorgette8 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. I like horror, but not when it's something potentially disturbing like that. I don't find it scary, just sad.
@asapaints8 жыл бұрын
+NotMostGirls DEFINITELY agreed. I can stomach most things horror-like but that one was just sad and a little too real!
@GeorgiaGeorgette8 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I find it frustrating; as a horror fan I can be enjoying something scary and then a moment later it just turns to distress and disappointment. I was watching a horror film at the cinema once and one of the characters was being tortured and started crying for his mother. Obviously I knew it wasn't real, but I found it so unnecessary and in such bad taste that I left.
@TheCarpetbagger8 жыл бұрын
I don't like how modern horror movies like to focus on gore and torture

Maybe it's because I've worked in haunted attractions most of my life, but I've seen all of these props before or some variation of them. Especially electric chair guy. The oldest model of that prop is actually more disturbing as there is nothing covering the figures head and you can see the pained expression on his face, coupled with the sound of him screaming.
@twilolight8 жыл бұрын
I gotta say, that Distortions Unlimited prop is my least favorite haunted house unit. I really hate what the prop is about so that's why. I don't mind other capital punishment props of things that no longer exist (the rack that pulls out your intestines for example), but that one bothers me a lot. You know why people who are electrocuted are in a heavy duty suit, gloves, and face covering? Well lets just say that people who work in power lines for houses are sometimes missing limbs and part of their face. The suit and coverings of the capital punishment electrocutions are just designed to cover up the damage and it would be harder to clean up. The fact that this is still done makes me ashamed of being a human.
@HalloweenBruce4457 жыл бұрын
Tiny Power I like it because that prop single handedly changed the haunted attraction industry and brought it to where it is today. I know what you mean but they don't really use the electric chair anymore when it comes to capital punishment
@waveyy24686 жыл бұрын
m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZzLoJ5_atdjZrc I don’t know if that’s the oldest model plus the screams are kind of on the humor side, but if this isn’t what you’re talking about could you find what electric chair prop you brought up and send a link?

i really hope they started taking better care of the place and greased the pivots and switched to a series of strong servos for each wax dummy if they are open. the squeaking of the ungreased or lubricated pivots and the pneumatic noises seriously detracts for the cool factor.

This is on the United States side in New York State. Is that the only haunted house in Niagara Falls, NY? The Ontario side has several haunted houses and other attractions on Clifton Hill and Victoria Ave. and in an entertainment complex at Sheraton Fallsview. But, you now need a passport, passport card, NEXUS, etc. to cross the border and return to the US. A driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate are no longer sufficient. Canada could turn you away without the documents the U.S. requires to get back in. And the U.S. will most likely allow U.S. citizens to return without the required ID, but it might require an interview in the building and some scolding. They will have to verify that you are a U.S. citizen. The Canada side is more worth it for the multiple haunted attractions and other fun things, and a more direct view of the falls, and better hotels.
