Disney starting to sweat worried that they won't have the capacity for the holiday surge. They've got to finish that Haunted Mansion queue ASAP, especially with Tiana's opening up this week. Small World opening up as well will help a little bit but not much. Game time is now.

@28:30, that’s a wall cap that finishes off the roof and outside wall finishes. The rubber roof runs across the roof, up a small wall and flat onto the top of the wall where the finishing cap they’re installing covers it and makes the rain water run off onto the roof. Vital part to the roofing system.

Christmas Candlelight Procession takes place the first weekend of December, Candlelight setup and rehearsals will take about a week. Accordingly, expect the Main Street Station refurbishment to be done before the Thanksgiving holiday and week.

The permit for Small World means that they are changing the Theatrical Lights that light the attraction to LED based fixtures. The dimmer racks and control modules need to be installed and updated because the old, incandescent lights can't use the same kind of dimmer racks. It's sort of a backstage thing, lol it makes 100% sense now why It's a Small World was closed for so long now. That update is pretty hard core. I work in a theatre, and the shift to LED lighting is not a small job.

What do you think the chances are for the Haunted Mansion que to be open and off of Virtual que Dec 9th or 16th? My wife and I will be going those days. It will be the 1st time in 5 and a half years. I think that Disney Imagineering is going through a phase right now where theming is done very "lightly" if at all. If you look at recent projects like CommuniCore at Epcot, Avenger's Campus (which looks like an office park), Little Mermaid at DCA which is a very non-fantasy structure,, Hungry Bear BBQ which only has a handful of framed posters for "theming," and this gift shop which kind of looks like just a garage seen in many neighborhoods...they are not doing much to make these structures transportive to another place or time. They are quite mundane. It's a risky "trend/strategy" I think as ticket prices increase to $200-$400 per day, and if the parks are hardly more "themed" than a local shopping center or office park, it makes it harder to justify the trip.

It seems very un-Disney like that the visible wall of the Haunted Mansion gift shop on Tiana’s ride clearly has the Haunted Mansion theming. They usually mask that type of interaction when they can. That wall should be themed to Tiana’s ride.

Disney is in panic mode. Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood are outperforming the Disney parks in Florida and California. As far as I'm concerned I'd much rather visit Universal rather than Disney properties.
