Haunted Mansion Ridethrough (Piano Solo - Old Version)

Back in the day, Disney was fond of creating a new theme song for each Disneyland attraction. Most attractions, anyway. The Haunted Mansion is one of the most outstanding examples of this. "Grim Grinning Ghosts", composed by Buddy Baker and featuring lyrics by X Atencio, is first heard while guests are in line and is last heard as they walk back to the "mortal world." The fact that no one gets tired of the piece after hearing it used so pervasively says something, I think.
The only place in the attraction in which the music does not rely on GGG is the attic, where Richard Wagner's famed "Bridal March" undergoes a demonic transformation into the version you hear in this video. This is the only piece in this recording that was originally intended for piano.
As always, the original recordings of all this are better, and I highly recommend listening to them if you haven't. But I do enjoy playing all this on piano, so hopefully that joy will somehow spill over onto you as the listener.

There is the ghostly flute player in the graveyard. Its recorded backwards and then reversed to the original sound but the reversed sound gives it an other worldly effect... Does that count?

I love it! I have become a bit obsessed with this music since I found the sheet music on Doombuggies. Especially the Exit Crypt, which I was excited to hear you play. Some of the coolest and cleanest harmonies, and Thurl's ending note is amazing!! Ok, I'm done geeking out.

I love the dissonance you have in the beginning. It's very reminiscent of Phantom Manor. I also love Bridal March section. It's so eerie. Also thank you for covering the exit crypt music. No one ever does and to me that one of the best parts of the entire score. It's so melancholy sounding. I totally hope that you rip the audio from this and make an mp3 of this. I would totally put this on my mp3 player.

This was in Disneyland in California but before the "Bridal March" song was added in 2006 i think it was not in the actual ride it was so dark and just a scream before until when the Black Widow Bride came in 2006 they added that song and changed the lighting effects.

For the Bridal March part, your piano should have been way out of tune like in the ride. Good playing.
