Pennhurst State School is one of the most haunted places in the USA. It has a long history of criminal injustices served to its residents, and the sad truth of their treatment is claimed to have left paranormal activity behind. This was one of the most terrifying nights of our lives, but also extremely sad! Read more about Pennhurst: amyscrypt.com/pennhurst-state...

While we had fun investigating with my good friend @GhostingJoey at the Pennhurst State School, we couldn't help but feel extreme feelings of sadness for those that once called this place home and the horrors they endured. The location didn't disappoint - Let us know in the comments what you thought about the evidence we captured.

I am fascinated by the image of the blurry gold-framed portrait which Joey saw on Seer. Earlier in the episode it was mentioned that the children were seeking the love they lost when their parents rejected them. When Joey asked the spirits to show her what love looks like to them, the blurry portait of two faint figures embracing resembled a parent hugging a child... but it was blurry as if it were an emotion or a type of love they could never quite obtain, with the gold frame highlighting the reverence with which they would have held for and respected such a precious but forbidden moment.

I appreciate your debunks guys! (and for being transparent). I've been realizing a few of the other paranormal channels I watch are possibly faking things or embellishing evidence and its been really bumming me out because I liked these people.. So this is refreshing to see. Thank you! 💚

Amy, those footsteps were amazing. Sometimes paranormal stuff is so clear or real, that it makes it hard to believe, that it really did happen. If it was the wind, it would have to be pushing something at a regular cadence , then to just stop.

With such a gruesome, tragic, heartbreaking history there, you guys handled it with class, respect, compassion, grace, sympathy etc...while at the same time tending to the task at hand and forging ahead, and also despite Amy feeling lousy towards the end. No surprise on this channel. What a night. The climax were those footsteps. Great seeing Joey again, will check out her video shortly

Hi Amy's Crypt! I was just going to let you to be careful but since you have already been there you know. You are definitely right in the sadness of this place. They weren't even treated like sib human beings. I wish people that could transition all these souls to where they are supposed to be. I have done some. They no longer need to suffer. The evil and residual will always be there but they don't. In America, I think this is a huge black spot on us as this ,still today, happens all the time. Nursing homes, mentally disabled homes, etc. I also have 50 years in working as an EMT-I and have seen it too often to descibe.describe. They need to protect people who cannot do it themselves and I don't ever understand why someone should have to say that never mind explain it. I'll be watching over you . Stay safe! Love all of you!!!🤗😘❤🙏🙏🙏👻

As a double major in college (a very long time ago), I did an internship at a residential facility that housed children with severe physical, emotional and mental disabilities. That facility reminds me of Pennhurst, but where I taught (as a special education teacher) was extremely well-run, staffed properly and not overcrowded. This was in 1972 and in the state of North Carolina. What occurred at Pennhurst is tragic and heartbreaking. I know the struggles disabled people have, especially children, and for those in charge, however that translates, to allow these horrible conditions to exist is an abomination and a crime against humanity. Thank you for having the courage to investigate a place like this. May Pennhurst and other places like this always be exposed as what should never happen again in this country, i.e. children in cages at the border.

That was one of the best investigations of that place I’ve seen and I think I’ve figured something out. You guys tend to present with more humanity than most of the other KZbinrs. You don’t treat the entity’s you encounter like preforming monkeys. You really do feel for the humanity of your subjects and I think that’s what they respond to. Also something you said at the beginning of this episode about having a sense of humour and fun, I think they ( the spirits ) feel that and respond to that - to them they are happy to just spend some time with you, and that can mean just watch you having fun. Also Joey is a treasure. Blessings to everyone,❤,❤,❤.

Agreed. I feel like some investigators treat spirits like circus performers, and I can't count the amount of times I've shouted that very thing at the screen when someone is demanding spirits turn flashlights on/off, on/off, touch the cat ball, touch the REM pod, rinse and repeat... and repeat AGAIN. it's infuriating. I love that Amy and Jarrod only ask for them to do that to establish contact, but then they move on to actual communication.

@amyscript and Jarrod this place is sad with the history to it! I have been there twice now and this place does not disappoint at all! The infirmary is always where it gets crazy for me and in the tunnel’s! I have done the alone challenge a couple of times now and every time it was insane the voices and sounds you get in there! The first time I did it it was still daylight out and while I got activity the second time I did it was 2am and the vibe in there is so different. It is definitely more intense at 2 in the morning! I’d do it again for sure! The footsteps coming towards me was the craziest thing and the constant breathing right next to me was very intense ! The cat balls and respond bunny that I had never stopped going off! I am going again in September and I can’t wait for the tunnels again! Mayflower is really something also .Quaker the basement was very active for us also! I was so exhausted by the end of the night that when I got to my hotel I passed out I was mentally and physically exhausted! There is just something about this place that just makes you want to find out as much truth as to what happened there ! These spirits talk and tell you what they did to them and it’s that they want the truth to get out there! Any of us could have been put in a place like this for just having ADD or being depressed epilepsy and so many other things that today it isn’t ever thought of unless it is extreme circumstances! It’s crazy to me that children were in this place ! It’s just how things were back in those days but even though that’s how they handled things back then to me it’s still just unexceptable to me and inhumane how these people had to live and be treated!! It makes me very sad especially when I hear a child come through asking for their mom or asking why this happened to them!! There isn’t anyone I know who has been there that has not felt the sadness that bleeds through the walls of that place! I’m sorry I didn’t mean to go on but this place gets to me and being an empath makes me very sensitive to all of it! I love you guys and love what you do and the equipment you are creating! I use all of it! Can’t wait to watch this episode ! Be safe and one day I would love to actually meet you in person! I’ve talked with you and Jarrod when I was having trouble with one of the apps and Jarrod you were courteous and helpful and fixed the problem quickly! Thankyou if you are ever back in the states and on the east coast like New Jersey or New York there are local places that I know you would love to investigate! In Staten Island New York there are several local places that would be amazing for you to investigate! Message me if you would be interested when you come back to the states!!! I have difficulty hearing disembodied voices at times but most of what you capture is so clear. I wonder if the spirits that were non verbal in life will be able to use the spirit talker ( whatever it’s called lol) because they don’t realise they have the ability in death. Maybe it’s something you could research or do a pole on , I would love to know what you two think ….. stay safe x

My best friend took me to Pennhurst a couple months ago for Paracon and we went along for the paranormal tours and investigations they offer at night. It was one of the most active and creepy places I’ve ever been. We got so many insane EVPs, pictures and other REALLY compelling pieces of evidence. I’ve never been terrified on an investigation before but one of the buildings’ basements is somewhere I will never go back. It made everyone in our group physically ill and affected a lot of us emotionally for reasons we still don’t understand.

When Beverly Mitchell was there years ago filming a movie, they also had what she said was several kids rushing them on more than one occasion. Really freaked her out!

God this investigation was bone chilling. 04:15 AM right now typing this and I don’t know how to feel about this. This was definitely one of the more active investigations! Absolutely love it when places are active like this.

What a sad and terrible place. When I see places like these I'm reminded of an interview with a psychiatric nurse at an abandoned facility she couldn't handle the silence. These places rang with moans, cries, screams, vocalisations. Imagine being trapped in a place being neglected, brutalised, abused and the noises you make, the human sounds of distress innate within us to signify we are in danger or desperately need help being so common as to be ambient noise, it's a hopeless, horrifying, inhumane reality these poor children faced. Thanks for the investigation, I imagine it being a very difficult place. I suffer with ocular migraines too, they really suck, I hope you are feeling better now. Stay safe out there!🙏👻
