My Grandmother was born in that house.... She lived there until she was 12. I'll just say that the family doesn't agree with much of this version of history. I do remember hearing about the secret closets to hide soldiers, but absolutely nothing else about these stories makes any sense to me. The "blood" on the original floor is iodine,-from a bottle that fell off the table- for instance. I was in that house with Dr Roger's original office was still intact, and remember it clearly.... If you talk to older locals who were around in the 20s, you'll hear a lot of stories about the good works of Dr Rogers-he certainly wasn't some demented man who ran around killing his patients for grins. . I gotta say, these stories make me a little angry.. I know the current owner wants to create some kind of interest in the site as a tourist attraction, but I don't think its right to concoct a bunch of BS like most of the material on this tour.

That is so interesting about them having hidden solders. I used to be a civil war re-enacter and I remember hearing the historians talk about how bad each side could be to the other side in not all but in many cases. So I can see why the civilians on both sides hid the soldiers when needed. I am glad that I wasnt around back then. Thank you for your post 💜🙂

@@bjbobbijo5066 maybe from the WW1 draft boards...the house is post Civil War. There were no big houses of sawmill cut lumber in the Dial, Newport, Due area until the late 19th cen. You may prefer a visit to the Stanley Settlement on the west side of the Toccoa River. Elisha Stanley, his brother and Ed O'Kelly were shot and hanged as deserters by confederate patrols out of Ellijay Camp in Sept 1864, during the Atlanta campaign. There's markers and wayside posters about that just north of the Shallowford steel bridge. Elisha's wife buried the two brothers in what is now the cemetery. She was a Garland from Tilley Bend (east side of the river). Oh that Tilley Bend church and graveyard was built in 1927. The original church is under Lake Blue Ridge flooded in 1926. Most ghost stories don't get even real facts, buildings, trees and timelines correct.

We used to keep the cemetery mowed. I'm almost 42 and I've lived here my whole life. Never seen anything strange around the place. Been there many many times. Night and day.

Sadly, so much of the history is true however, this guy ruins it by his tour. He is full of BS and gave me the same identical tour antics with that ball and identical speech. The truth is revealed in the history of this house and he spins it for dramatic reasons. The Judge that bought that house gutted the interior and let this guy stay on the property. Tells everyone they have Cherokee Indian and gamples.

I'm so happy that I took photos of this place before they "remodeled " it. I have always love it. And I suppose Alice stills haunts the house. And as far as Tilley bend church goes.Not scary. Subbed today! I found your videos just a few days ago searching about McFarland's history. Never knew that spot down on the river was there. Gonna come back and camp that this spring hopefully. Also that other spot where the river was running over that concrete bridge with the two nice sites looks worth checking out. Appreciate the videos!

He was so full of bullhockey...entertaining though. If they hid soldiers then it was from the draft boards in WW1 or Span Am...the house was built after 1865. The blood stains and prints are iodine spilled in the doctoring area. At least he didn't catch the family at Tilley graveyard...we would have spun even more fish stories than the normal local hockey presenter relayed.

Elisha Stanley's (killed by Ellijay confederate patrols) wife was a Garland. Garland and a son were magistrate officials of the late 19th early 20th century. Most birth and death records of the era have their signature.

@@bridgetmccarthy7333 The Tilley Church (Mount Pleasant 1858) is underwater and gone. This church next to Old Dial Road was built in 1927 and the 30s to replace the flooded church. Most of the fabricated witch, church shootings and hanging stories would have happened in 1864, 1880 and 1908 so this church wasn't built yet and this was private property deeded to the congregation in 1926. There were some graves on this hill in the late 19th cen.

I would love to share a pic I took while in that graveyard. I need someone to tell me exactly what I'm looking at. There is also another graveyard with most of the children on Lake Blue Ridge. There's at least a hundred more graves marked with only stones, rocks of the children she cursed.

Hi, I live in blue ridge. Ricky, the man giving them a tour of the house, no longer lives on the property. If you go there, the police most likely would be called. There’s a man named Don who helps him take care of the property now but there’s no telling on when he’ll be there. Ricky used to live in a trailer on the side of the property but recently moved closer to town. So whenever people would drive by to take pictures he would come out and invite people in for a free tour but now that he’s not there you’re kinda shit out of luck going in there.

interesting video, but hon, please try to not walk on any graves. I know sometimes it can't be helped, but out of respect for the dead, and the fact that sometimes just your extra weight can cause a grave to cave in. Yes, it's happened before and would be so traumatic for everyone involved. Keep up the adventures! Cool!
@bjbobbijo5066

I had never thought about graves falling in if walked on too much but I can see how an old grave could fall in considering that the graves did not have the concrete vaults that we have in modern times. I have came across several graves from the 1800s that at some point had cement put over them which was perhaps due to the grave at one time caving in. A few of them had some parts of the cement side caved in making it to where if you shined a flash light down in there you could see parts of the casket that wasn't 100% filled over with dirt anymore. It looked as though small animals had been using it as a home.
