Love watching your videos and shows . I’m with everyone here in the US who are frustrated that we can’t see your new ( Heidi) show 😢. All I watch on Tuesdays are the reruns of Room service , Sarah’s House and Design Inc. Don’t get me wrong I love watching them but I’ve seen all of them . I’m so happy when I’m off on Tuesdays cause it means I can binge watch your shows 😂. As I said before other designers pale beside you . Well I think I should put it this way … nobody is in your category ! You and your designs are so classy and beautifully “ put together “. Thanks for your videos . Hope we can see your shows here in the US.

Lots of great ideas here, such as window trim extended for chair rail, specifics on wall and ceiling papers, floating kitchen storage…One change I’d make, even though I love the watercolor tree fabric, is to use it in the room but not the windows as it dominates the view. Also-is it just me?- I would work hard to avoid having windows behind my headboard, and prefer to look out at the view from bed if possible. Ps Thanks for saying lying on the bed, not, um, you know.

Some posters seem disappointed that Sarah's designs have become too contemporary. The Haus Heidi project is not meant to be a home. It's a vacation rental. Like hotels, vacation rentals get abused by the renters... the fabrics, furnishings and floor coverings take a beating. The sparse contemporary style is designed to appeal to the masses. A home is a personal reflection of the owner. A home can have expensive antiques, art, textiles and wall coverings. A rental property has to be easily turned over and cleaned from one set of renters to the next. I hope Sarah shows the changes that were made to the outside of the chalet as well as the show stopping entry hall... game changer for the whole building!
@arcy57982 жыл бұрын
All true!! This is why her intro is such a disconnect to what she actually did. These are not private bedrooms with reflections of the owner. The are HOTEL ROOMS!! What is there is well done but to say they are applicable to a personal space was a poor set up. IMHO.
@arcy57982 жыл бұрын
Which is why her intro does not fit the what and why of the designs in these rooms.

I clearly remember reading that blue and green saying as a style tip in seventeen magazine in grade 8 or 9, so like 1985, 86? and thinking that is terrible advice i will never follow it. It is the only time i ever remember reference to it, but it has stuck in my head all these years as something to joyously, defiantly do lol. You have ALWAYS done it, and when I first started watching you from your room service days, i felt vindicated and proven right, so thanks sarah. Breaking dumb rules since forever. Also I love the watercolour tree print, and i agree 100% that it was the right choice for the room, but the greens on the trees outside don't quite match at the moment, so could you ask them to do better ? Can you talk about sun fading on your beautiful fabrics. I live in sunny AZ and have beautiful fabrics damaged by our bright sunlight. I hate to keep my shutters closed during the daylight. Any suggestions

It's definitely something to consider, especially in sunny Arizona! It's important to ensure your draperies are lined with the appropriate backing fabric - some of which have UV blocking abilities. If keeping shades drawn to protect the fabric isn't an option (of course you want to let the sunshine in!) you might want to consider using an outdoor fabric inside, as they're developed to hold up much better against the elements. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching!

I love the Nimbus bed blanket but it's not in the shopping list. Does anyone know where it came from?

I've just begun watching this video; however, I can guarantee you that gray walls, gray bedding and gray everything else will NOT make me happy, tranquil or peaceful in MY bedroom. I find gray/grey extremely depressing, along with dark blues, black "focus" or "pop" walls. Whatever happened to a lovely very light pink/peach/blush walled bedroom with a light blue ceiling? That's my fav. thank you!

Sounds like you're not a fan of the Glacier Suite...perhaps you might enjoy the Heidi room across the hall? It certainly has some fresh peach tones accented throughout - and it's partnering washroom across the hall (nicknamed Heidi Loo) has a gorgeous ceiling that I'm certain will be up your alley. Good thing you don't have to live there 😉 Thanks for watching!

Meanwhile... in the USA, all we get is reruns or awful flip shows! 😫😫😫 Maybe you can pitch a show to Amazon and/or Netflix so that people around the world can see your work?!

Hearing that this 'chalet' was not historical--built in my lifetime so NOT anything that would make a registry helped me accept how contemporary these rooms are. Still the best part of all four rooms are the rescued chisel cut trim boards in the Heidi room. This was obviously a study in products that you can sell with such an ecclectic vendor array. HGTV does it again--unfortunately. That explains to ultra contemporay rather personality drain that went on. Fresh and new is always fun to see but none of those rooms speak to the surroundings. Once inside you would never guess you came through the doors of what was a 'story book barvaian-esque chalet'. Someday maybe I will get to hear the why of the Heidi rooms bedside tables because as of now I can't imagine why you chose them. They must have been in the house but they need more friends to make sense in that room. Evidently there were no quaint reuse shops filled with culturally appropriate textiles or accessories let alone furniture to reference the area. Bummer. LOVED your and Tommy's shopping trips!!

I'm glad you like the re-purposing of the "Heidi" chipboard! Sorry that everything else was such a disappointment for you. We'll be posting a lot more new content here on KZbin - hopefully you'll see more of what makes you happy. If not, easy enough to not follow along. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Beds are huge, and night tables minute. It looks out of proportions.

I’m clearly going to have a differing view. The Haus Heidi project for me is incredibly bland, way too much gray - the living space particularly. The house is bland & would have benefited from a lot more colour - pictures, rugs, cushions, paint choices etc etc. I’m clearly the odd person out though! #morecolorplease!!!
