Loved all your choices here! Really appreciate how practically minded, user-friendly, and locale-reflective your interior designs typically are. Even your more fun and whimsical choices usually have a strong basis in function and the natural surroundings. My favorite part of this particular video is your window mirror. That is high art! It was what drew my eye even before I understood exactly what I was looking at. What a great solution to the "window problem." You are my favorite of the celebrity interior designers on hgtv, youtube, and the like. I wouldn't feel a bit apprehensive about letting you go to town on one of my properties if I had any the money to spare to afford you. Thanks for sharing some tips and tricks for free for those of us pinching every penny right now. Kudos for standing out in your profession in the very best of ways.

The treatment of frosting the existing window in the bathroom and then mounting a mirror on it... brilliant!!! Lets in much needed light and gives the whole vignette a "backlit" look. The considered placement of the door into the bathroom brings the whole design to life! Such a functional room... but still looks fantastic! Amazing!!! So much here for inspiration. The way you have tied all three spaces together with the use of colour, flooring, counter tops, cabinetry and hardware helps to keep this storybook rental on the same page! When I first saw the exterior of the home, I thought... WTF was she thinking?!?!?! But apparently you were thinking! You made it work. Congratulations!

Think you invented “outside the box”. Love your helpful hints for using alternative products in new ways. Btw, did you “refresh” a friend’s bunkie while your father filmed it many moons ago using a can of white paint and gauzy white fabric? Funny that image is clear as a bell. Thank you for your encouragement to open our eyes and see better design and functionality. Best to you always.

Sarah, I am so glad someone mentioned you are on you tube, missed your program so much. So my question is what is that marble behind where you are sitting? I am going to be doing my master bathroom and want that for my shower walls. I want a easy clean as I am 70 and I do not want a lot of grout plus I want a spa look. What can I use for the floors so we do not slip and fall. I will be putting in a zero entry shower. There is only a shower and toilet in there with a door of course. The vanity is like a breeze way to the shower/toilet, his and hers closets across from a 96 inch vanity.

Hi Sarah, I enjoyed your video! Could you make a video on where to put the “functional extras” like towel bars, etc in a small bathroom? Sometimes there just isn’t a lot of available wall - it can be blocked by a door swing, or there’s a window, or no space between the vanity and the wall. I noticed in this bathroom you hung the bath towel on a horizontal bar that was attached to the glass shower door but what if you have a tub and plastic shower curtain? Also, the hand towel was hung on a small hook above the side of the vanity but what if you don’t want the hook and towel protruding in front of the mirror? Are there other/better ways to include towel bars and hooks in a small bathroom?

Been watching SR for almost 20 years. Luv the majority of her videos/projects. Just wish she would break away from only using shades of grays (90% of the time) and calling them "bright" colours. As an artist/designer and someone with SAD I can't stand grays, so many of her projects leave me blah mood-wise. Just sayin... Otherwise, her functional solutions/treatments are great.
@arcy5798 Жыл бұрын
I think we have to remember this is a rental so the colors have to be pretty milk toast to appeal across the board. Same with all the painted wood. There's nothing warm or homey about this place. It's very retail, but that's its intended target.
