राजस्थान पर्यटन के मुताबिक जयपुर में हवा महल को शहर के प्रमुख आकर्षणों में से एक माना जाता है। यह पांच मंजिला इमारत मधुमक्खी के छत्ते की तरह दिखाई देती है और इसमें असंख्य खिड़कियां और झरोखे बने हुए हैं, जिसकी वजह से महल के अंदर हमेशा हवा चलती रहती है। अपनी इसी खायितस की वजह से इसे हवा महल का नाम दिया गया है।
राजस्थान अपने कल्चर, पहनावे, त्योहारों और संगीत के अलावा अनोखे किलों के लिए भी काफी मशहूर है। यहां के कई शहर ऐसे हैं, जहां जाकर इतिहास के पन्नों को एक बार फिर पलटने का मन करने लगता है। ऐसी ही एक जगह है जयपुर, जो राजस्थान की राजधानी भी है। यहां राजा-महाराजाओं के ऐतिहासिक किले और वास्तुकला लोगों को खूब आकर्षित करती है। नाहरगढ़ फोर्ट हो, जयगढ़ का किला हो या फिर आमेर फोर्ट हर मौसम में यहां टूरिस्ट्स का तांता लगा रहता है। यहां की असाधारण वास्तुकला में से एक है हवा महल, जिसे देखने के लिए दूर-दूर से लोग आते हैं। यूनेस्को ने इसे वर्ल्ड हेरिटेज की लिस्ट में भी शामिल कर रखा है।
he Hawa Mahal is a palace in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Built from red and pink sandstone, it is on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and extends to the Zenana, or women's chambers.
Hawa Mahal is known as the “palace of winds“. Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh built it palace in 1799. Hawa Mahal is considered to be unique as it has many small windows and balconies that seem like a honeycomb. The five-storey building looks like a honeycomb of a beehive and it is always windy inside, owing to the numerous windows and jharokhas. This amazing ventilation that the palace enjoys is the reason why it was named as the Hawa Mahal, which literally translates into the “Palace of the Winds”
