It is not the same, Cuba. The country is in total crisis and has the second highest inflation in the world, second only to Venezuela. People spend 4 days in a row to buy. and they generally don't know what is coming to sell at the supermarket. Cuba is currently experiencing a silent civil war of the 65 million blacks against the white racists who work in those tourist places. And the black Uncle Toms who are the police and the army in charge of all the repression and abuses against the population. The Jamaican and Caribbean students left 3 years ago because we began to see them as racists complicit in the suffering of the Cuban people. Malcon x and Cuban Martin Luter king are both in jail on hunger strike. And you blacks in the US are other racists complicit with the communists. Your money is being used to build more prisons, more concentration camps, where black children are being incarcerated, and the world's largest per capita black prison population. The whites from the US stopped visiting Cuba, because you have to be an idiot not to know the hell Cubans are living in. The most violent blacks in the world are Cubans. Of course, they haven't come out to fight because they don't have weapons and Castro's assassins are armed to the teeth. But that's not going to stop them. He is regrouping together with the army. Before the bolcan erupts everything seems to be calm.

My friend, they were not fighting over YOU…they are fighting over your money. Big difference. I’m an American and a frequent visitor to Cuba. I can see that you’re an educated man…regardless of the fact that you were playing with fire here and never knew it. These people that you were with are not your friends, they are “Jineteros”, translates to “Jockeys”. Only in this case they ride the tourists. Look, some of the girls are just trying to survive while their keepers (the men) are often “Chulos” or, Pimps (to you and me). Perhaps your cameraman was watching over you, but so were these Chulos. For the men who are watching your video, you cannot believe how fantastically dangerous it is to do this kind of thing these days. Cuba is spiraling downward economically while crime is trending upward. If you’re lucky they will just spike your drink and rob you. Others have not been so fortunate. BE VERY CAREFUL IN HAVANA. Now, more than ever. Travel in pairs at night. Getting stupid-drunk only helps your potential attackers.

As a female who travels alone frequently, I watched this video in a sorta similar way as well. I would never trust those women or think they were into me. I'd think they can even be "playing drunk" more than they are, and have men working with them to rob ya later when you are drunk and hanging out with the girls. No matter if you're a man or woman of traveling alone in another country it is not the smartest thing to get drunk with locals IMO. It's their language, their territory.

As an avid traveler, I do my homework or recon before getting embedded in the local life in any country. There are broadly three levels of understanding for a tourist in cuba 1) no understanding at all and gets played by everyone (can still have a good time though). Met lots or girls, bought lots of people drinks, bought lots of tourist stuff. 😂 2) wised up tourist who can spot and stop Cubans gaming on them. Good but will be quieter experience overall. Yes, Havana is crazy. I've been to cuba 8 times now. I'm a 70 year old white guy. It's very disorienting to have beautiful women throwing themselves at you, and yes fighting over you. . I have a gorgeous girlfriend there and I support her and her poor family. I think that im now seen as her dad and the family friend. I'm much more buttoned down now when I walk around there. As a gringo , I attract far too much attention. I now realize that I am seen as money and maybe a ticket out. You can never sort out if you are liked for who you are. But, hey , it's still fun to have a hottie Latina giving you the eye and inviting you over to her room! After being considered a zero here in the states, I am just a stupid man... after all. I still love Cuba.

@@KeenanLambert198 Yes, brethren. I think round trip flights from Amsterdam to Havana are about €600, so not too bad. That is excluding of your accommodation and other expenses. Caribbean-wise, some of the other islands are more of a priority for me. Islands like Antigua and Barbados, St Vincent, St Kitts is a must to visit one. Already been to Aruba/Curacao and Trinidad and Tobago. Will never go to T&T again - got robbed on the street three times in one day during their carnival a few years back - bay tief down deh.

Yes, you can definitely blend in in South America with your face features! But what gives it away most of the times with American men is how you guys walk. The demeanor gives it away. You have a good time, but the truth this is still a communists country and the people do what ever they can to survive . Women giving themselves away for little money has become a way of life for many. If you would get out of the tourist area , you will see the proverty level. Rationed food, medicine. I have family still living there. Sad to see that my homeland has not skaken of the grip of communists while here in America it is being welcomed slowly !

Our government doesn’t ration food and medicine, BUT if you don’t have money in the US, you have no food or medicine, you beg or go find a homeless shelter where FOOD AND MEDICINE ARE RATIONED TO YOU…..so what’s the difference between Cuba and the streets of Atlanta? Women give themselves away, homeless is sleeping in tents, they have to beg for food, medical care isn’t available…this is in NY, Atlanta, Houston and many more cities in the US.

People are rioting in the streets of Santiago today because the government is cutting off the electricity and the people are starving. Have all the fun you want, but the situation there sucks and it has for a long time. A lot of Cubans would happily trade places with homeless people in America.

Can you be more specific? I was interested in dancing and having fun…. Everything else was brought to me… Brought to me only because I was a tourist and tourists represent privilege. Women are not constrained by the same social rules that exist in other parts of the West. The reason I didn’t cut stuff out is that Cuba is very different from other places and I wanted y’all to experience it with me. Love you my G and I appreciate the criticism wholeheartedly. I left out plenty… The unfair part about KZbin is that my preferred style of content… history/urban adventure blend has not worked at the same level… From this same trip…. Videos that touch on culture… post colonial societies and post communism have done 25-20k at best…. Check Cuba Nightlife #2 Fidel’s Las Vegas and see how that was arguably a better video, yet floundered in comparison…. Moreover, I think this video allowed me to connect with the 25-35 yr old male demographic that previously struggled to identify with me… Mannnn this thing has been a hell of a learning experience about human behavior/attention spans etc.

The nights in the week are not as live as this…. This video was shot during the end of summer carnival time for them…. I got an amplified experience…. Check part 2 for a truer sense of what the nightlife is normally like in Havana… The guest friendly thing is a little complicated… They will discourage “parties” in the rules but will tell you in person that “una chica” is no problem…
