1 year on RIP Mr Vogel - One of the greatest Sinologists, but I feel his mood would have changed in line with the global sentiment due to PRCs recent actions.

His mood would have definitely gotten worse seeing exactly people like u losing the big picture of human history and civilisation and going trigger happy with superficial ideological indoctrination duck feeding to complete a close circuit of your understanding of the world, past, now and future... U are the type of persons he particularly felt sorry about in today's world in his other late interview with Chinese Tencent...Go check it out and see what u can really learn from this wise man.

I would really like to see both nations improving relations, despite their complicated history in the 20th century. I'm a bit disappointed that Japan joined the QUAD supporting the aggressive Western agenda in the region. Friendly ties with its neighbors (not only China) are essential for Japan in order to emancipate from US geopolitical guidelines in the 21st century (while still keeping good relations to the West).

As the US gets weaker with internal problems like the mismanagement of the COVID-19 and the recent storming of the Capitol by righteous factions, China would just walk right in and reunited Taiwan with China without any conflict.

I agree 100%, I'm an American that is as pro-asia as any person. But that is going to be difficult when China is acting like everyone's enemy in Asia. Stop building artificial islands (but I heard they are falling apart and may sink) . Stop the threats to invade Taiwan. Stop the threats other counties islands. ACT like a friend instead of an enemy. I see WW3 coming soon...... and we all want peace .

@@dennistani1986 your country slaughtered one million iraqis for no discernible reason and you want to whine about artificial islands. This is why China began to hate the United States.
