Emerald Crab has always been suggested as a stable of a healthy reef tank's clean-up crew, but the more people I talk to, the more I realized how many of them "go rogue" in a reef tank once food becomes scarce (usually after they "fixed" the problem). After seeing a rapid decline of my fleshy Krytonite Candy Cane coral, and seeing the huge numbers of recommendations to pull the emerald crabs on my Instagram post, I finally pulled the trigger and invited them to live in the refugium instead.

@@InappropriateReefer I've found the Coral Banded Shrimp to be the most effective bristle worm exterminator ever. They eat worms like it's the 4th of July! And the Golden variety is definitely the best. Hunts worms more actively, and is not aggressive at all. Great at keeping populations at bay ;)

I have three aussie lords on a rock. All three are some of the fastest growing corals I have, although my Blue Effloutanaria is the fastest growing by far. My slowest growing, are my Neon Splatter hammer, my Bicolor Hammer, and my Pink tipped Frogspawn. I have had all three frags for about 7 to 8 months, and no growth at all. All three are healthy and are puffy and pretty, they just aren't creating new branches. Anyone have any tips?

I was given a badly damaged sun coral to try and rehabilitate and it had multiple bristle worms hidden in the base. Most people say "good like earthworms" but I saw a few people saying they were seeing issues with them. If they're not actually feeding on the coral itself, could it be that their act of coming out to steal the food from the sun coral prevents the coral from extending to eat and causes die-back from starvation? It's really doing better since I murdered the little bastards.
