Always guaranteed an epic show with Steph in the chair. Steph and Victoria Coren Mitchell are my absolute favourites. Thx for the upload. My highlight of the week.

The Baroness has got great wit and is probably the funniest most refreshing politician I've seen on this show. My favorite episode this season and THANX, so much, for the upload.

I'm sure, in common with all of us, Baroness Warsi has her faults and gets things wrong, but I have to say, I really like her and on this episode, in particular, she was on fire!!

The late Charles Kennedy, former LibDem leader, was always willing to take the piss out of himself and his party. Same for Lembit Opik, especially when he was on the show literally the day after losing his seat in parliament. Surprisingly, even Nick Clegg was pretty good on the show.

I disagree on the same basis that we should never forget the names of people like Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Putin and Amber Heard, because that is an invitation for evil to repeat itself.

As a peer, she doesn't really have to sacrifice integrity to secure reelection. (Not that any politician SHOULD be doing that in the first place.)

I'm from the U.S. and am wondering if she is a moderate Tory. Is there such a thing? Here we have moderate Republicans and moderate Democrats. I know that Brits probably don't hear much about them. They're the sane ones that don't make the news! Moderates are usually the more reasonable and not afraid to criticize their own party. That's why I asked if she's a moderate Tory.
@mulrich2 жыл бұрын
@@marywood8794 I have no idea whether she's a moderate, but she is a peer, meaning she's in the Hosue of Lords, not the House of Commons, so she doesn't really have to worry about re-election. Sadly, politicians tend to sacrifice integrity in order to get re-elected.
@marywood87942 жыл бұрын
@@mulrich That's true about elections. I don't know about in the U.K., but here in the U.S., the biggest issue with elections is how candidates are often bought and paid for by special interest groups, who fund their political campaigns. On the other hand, when you aren't elected you don't really have to answer to the country's citizens. At least those that are elected can be voted out when the people are unhappy with their actions. Is there any recourse when the people are unhappy with a member of the House of Lords? Or is it like here, with appointed officials, that unless they violate the law, etc.,,they don't have anything to worry about?

Yeah right, Putin never takes a day off. When the Kursk sank he was on holiday and didn't return to Moscow til 2 days later and only then when family members of the crew started protesting. How many photos of good ol' Vladimir on holiday with no shirt on horseback or fishing have turned up? If you're gonna lie at least make it believable

"But why can't you just throw it?".. is a question based on a constant egocentrical view of the world rather than about looking at the spreading within a society.. that is.. ASSUMING that the only point is to defend YOURSELF from the disease.. instead of ALSO thinking there is good reason to try to do your best to NOT be the one who pass it on to others.. If you (personally) throw the candy at kids.. then you have touched the candy.. and in case you are infected and during the contagious parts of the incubation time... Then actually touching the candy.. Is still FAIRLY unlikely to be a route of transmission of the virus, BUT!! If you haven't touched the candy, or the catapult for a period of 12 hrs.. then the candy IS safe.
@christopherbedford98973 жыл бұрын
Oh I see so the candy bars climb into the catapult bucket by themselves. Got it.
@rogerlundstrom69263 жыл бұрын
@@christopherbedford9897 .. I assumed they had the candy in some form of container and just tipped it over.. To "pour" candy from a bigger bucket, or from a bag is viable, to try to throw things from those containers is a very uncontrolled action indeed (can't control amount, distance or direction very well)
@christopherbedford98973 жыл бұрын
@@rogerlundstrom6926 Yeah - let's face it, the point of the catapult was to have a bit of fun, and none of that other stuff.
@rogerlundstrom69263 жыл бұрын
@@christopherbedford9897 . Probably; But that don't change that what I said isn't a valid point.. "just throwing it" isn't the optimal solution from a SARS-CoV-2 transmission standpoint; Using a catapult (with foresight) is one way of optimizing it.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
