If there was a British Mount Rushmore of comedy, Spike Milligan's face would be on it. Can Angus come back for just one episode, please?

Paul and Ian both looked chuffed beyond belief to be in the same room with Spike, who was unusually subdued. Spike started a 'Dick Small' running gag and Paul took it and ran with it.

@@dzonbrodi514 Have I Got News For You S09E08 - Spike Milligan & Andrew Neil 1627pm 2.3.22 are you discussing peter cook? indeed. excellent dinner guest, i feel. as i am assuming it wold have been a case of just pass the bottle and not much in the way of food would be interacted with. then there's his alleged insistence re: getting into character ie: allegedly renowned for just putting on cruddy accents eg: yorkshire man accent and talking us through various banal routines eg: like passing the bottle round the table... allegedly that was tedious after while but i think he would rate as top of the dinner guest list which is cool as it will mean i have thought about something for once... even if it's only who would be yer fav dinner guest. as for being funny per se - dunno. some people have a natural affinity for being it, for being funny or droll. he's as step up from the christmas cracker range of dubious aside, put it that way.... next question: have you ever made anyone laugh, yerself. and if so - when? n.b seance with peter cook probably in the offing.

I've watched a few of these old episodes of HIGNFY, the last one has Peter Cook and Douglas Adams, I'm in the uK and don't know how I missed them first time around, although these things were only broadcast once in those days, so I guess the answer was, I was busy.. But, even with this episode, with another comedy hero, Andrew Niel, whoops, I meant Spike Milligan, god, they're tame! Tbf though, Spike wasn't at his best, gawd bless 'im.
