Just a little random fact; 24:30 is pronounce as 'Wall-nóó-t.' Like No. Wall-no. t. Als, Peanutbutter is called Pindakaas, which translates as Peanut-cheese. We don't put cheese in it, it's the same, but it had something to do with a lawsuit about names, I believe.

Trump also advised that people rake around the place to clear the flammable debris. Like they do in Finland.

Steph McGovern and Kirsty Young, if I were 30 years younger, they'd be turning this confirmed bachelor.

Strange how a supposedly intellectual panel pander to the US propaganda on Assange so readily...

Ok, first a caveat; I'm American. So therefore, I don't know all the nuances of the different regional accents of the UK. So the only thing I have to go by is watching a few different types of British programs on KZbin. Having said that(and I know I could just Google her) I can't place where this host is from. If I closed my eyes and just heard her speak, I could imagine that it was Cheryl Cole or Alex Jones talking. And I know that Newcastle and Wales aren't anywhere close to each other. So I guess I'm wondering if even Brits find Welsh and Geordie dialects similar or, if to a British ear, they're nothing alike? I guess I should also entertain the possibility that she's from neither of those places.

She is certainly from the north-east, perhaps the Tyneside region. There is very little similarity in the sounds of English spoken by the two groups you mentioned, at least to me. That's from a point of view merely of familiarity, though. If you think about the vowel sounds and length; about the intonation, there are similarities, and it is easy to see how a speaker of North-American English might hear the two flavours of English and pick up on the similarities and a hard time distinguishing one from the other immediately. After a bit of time and conscious consideration of the two, though, you'd be no less able to tell them apart than a British English speaker. I am guessing that when you mention 'Jones', you are more likely to mean Aled Jones, the Welsh singer and TV presenter than you are to mean Alex Jones, the American who hosts the Alex Jones Internet Radio show. Or perhaps I am just unaware of a famous Briton called Alex Jones.

Sunderland, so similar to the Newcastle accent. She may have an accent from County Durham though.

25:28 - Did not know that the Dorchester Hotel stoned gays to death.

If you dont pay your bar bill.................

Yes, I was going to ask about that. It must be an in-joke or some oblique reference to something not literally meant. Dunno.
@jordisaunders6655 жыл бұрын
It's in reference to the hotel brand being owned by the sultan of Brunei. The country recently allowed gays to be put to death.there was a big boycott.
