I actually think you might like The Cruel Prince. It's pretty fun, I haven't gone on with the series, but I think you would find the main character and what she does interesting. I've also heard Holly Black's writing for her fae books is where it's at and to avoid everything else.

I really loved The Cruel Prince, but I really didn’t like ACOTAR. I found Cruel Prince easier to suspend disbelief, which I find super hard in fantasy and I’m quite intolerant to most modern fantasy because of it, but ACOTAR…it made me cringe and roll my eyes too many times 😭

I’ve read The Cruel Prince and a Court of Thorns and Roses and… tbh, I think there’s a good chance you’d like The Cruel Prince but I feel like you’d hate a Court of Thorns and Roses, it’s not very good 😂 and I haven’t read Book of Night but I think almost everyone hates it, so I think it’s really different from The Cruel Prince (I’ve only read the first book of the series though)

PLEASE DO NOT READ Tell Me Everything. As someone who works in the field of sexual assault investigations, I found this book irresponsible and reprehensible. The amount of misinformation this author spews with no regard for the very real harm that myths about sexual assault causes made me feel physically ill. Within the first two chapters, she asserts that it is medically possible to differentiate between consensual sex and assault, which is a blatant lie and has led so many rapists to walk free because misinformed juries believe those untruths. I honestly don't know how that woman was legally able to publish such absurd, self indulgent drivel. I have never in my life done this before, but I threw that book away rather than put it back into circulation. It is dangerously misinformed and, less importantly, terribly written.

I read Tell Me Everything last year and honestly I would skip it. The voice of the author comes off pretty egotistical and I didn't appreciate some of her comments on judgement of people.
