This is easily one of the more moving conference talks I have ever heard! It is filled with the spirit of hope and the promise of redemption through the Savior. I am sure that many of us can identify with something of Danny’s experience. Thankfully, we can choose to change our lives - even late in life - and seek the forgiveness and grace of Jesus Christ.

Yes I think most of us do. It’s Satan’s way of keeping us from repentance.

Do you now know how much our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us and can turn us around? I am so thankful for their never ending love!

There was not a single talk this last General Conference that wasn’t directly something I needed to hear. Oh how very grateful I am for these humble servants of the Lord. This same thing has plagued me for years. But like Danny, I’m back and never looking back.

I was hopelessly addicted to pornography for forty years of my life. I knew that I was going to die an addict. I can relate to Danny in this story. I now want to become, like Alma the Younger, an instrument in the Lord's hands to bring the message of hope to those who are in the same dark hole that I was in. And I never want to go back to where I came from.

Hi Timothy, Thanks for sharing your story of healing with us. You are a great example of Christlike discipleship in helping those who are in the deep pit of addition. Keep up your good example in blessing others!

Thank you brother, you may fall at times, but remember there is a savior. Get quickly down on your knees and repent. I love you brother, you'll overcome this, and WILL be an instrument. Read your patriarchal blessing, read your scriptures daily, pray, and check your thoughts. Once you start thinking of something you shouldn't, think of something else, pray, do something :). Thoughts turn into actions, may God be with you.

Opposition reveals our weaknesses. Through our Savior, we will be able to make our weaknesses strong. Repentance is a process, and this process is worth the journey. We gain eternal insight from on High, when we choose to walk His path willingly. The pure love of Christ is the most blessed feeling to experience. Keep taking those baby steps and eventually you will overcome.

I am from the Nattress clan and looking for my many cousins. My father is William Nattress. Growing up, I had spent some time with my aunts and uncles. I reflect on the times I spent with my cousins and want to reconnect with the ones that made an impact in my life.

How should I know if I have been forgiven. when I can't even forgive myself
@nathanbanks2935 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I struggle with forgiving myself too, but I know that because of Jesus Christ, hope is never lost for you and for me. If Christ can forgive Alma the younger, and the woman caught in the very act of adultery, I know that if we just keep trying, and don't give up, we will be forgiven. Also what I'd encourage you and I to do, is to make a list of things you like about yourself. Also if you have received a patriarchal blessing, look at your blessing prayerfully and remember what God has said about you. God bless you!
@bethanystevenson2769 Жыл бұрын
Read the book by Elder Anderson “The Divine Gift of Repentance,” and you will learn how to forgive yourself and know when you have been forgiven!
@choosehigherground Жыл бұрын
The most powerful way to forgive yourself is to kneel down and pray to our Heavenly Father, in Jesus Christ’s name, that you will be filled with His love for you. That Perfect Love will grab at your very spirit and your very heart. You will feel Him and see yourself as He sees you. The Mercy felt will overpower and push out any desire to do anything contrary to His will.. to include forgiving yourself. His love is constant. No matter how far you’ve strayed or rebelled, His degree of love for you never changes. Therefore, you CAN ALWAYS ask for help from Him to feel His love. And with diligence and persistent prayer, you will feel His love. I promise you that.
