If I have that ankle gap, I wear socks that match the pants and boots. I like my wider-leg pants to cover at least half of my heel, I wear them, ideally, only an inch from the floor. One can cheat to longer legs with long, wide-leg pants and mid-heel boots (I can’t wear any higher than about 2.5”, or I would!).

Chi, LOVE your videos. I'm 5'2 - all I wore in art school for fall/winter was black opaque tights, black doc martens and above the knee dresses. That made the only horizontal line occur at the knee. In the summer/spring I went for maxis w/ docs. Both worked for me.

I think this is a great video! The only exception is for booties and ankle jeans. I like about an inch of skin, which is very on trend. If the bootie has a heel, the leg will already have a lengthened look! 😁 For the cutout booties, what sock do you wear?

Even my husband after 50 years does not expect me to grow beyond 5'4". That's why your tips are helpful, except the heels. After my orthopedic surgeon replaced both of my knees, he told me not to fall. I may go with Vionics, Cole Hahn, or Ferragamos. I need shoes with support. I also need a cure for arthritis, but you can't have everything.

I have a strange leg shape for dr martens boots, but i found that wearing them with similar coloured higher socks (that I scrunch down onto the boots) lengthens the boots and slims my legs more.

Chi, maybe a video on what kind of sleeves petite should wear or avoid. I feel long sleeves specially ending in circle (like rubber and style?) is too much on me. Way too much bulk fir petite arms. Sometimes I find a nice dress with no big flowers or prints that suits me but then they kill it with the full length arms. Lol! I want to scream! Lol! Here in California, I like seeing ladies in white loose dresses wearing cowboy boots. Some look really cute put together. Some!

My biggest problem with ankle booties is the gap in the shaft of the shoe to my legs because of my thin ankles. Finding the best sock bootie hasn't been easy. I need it to be leather material, not fabric because of our wet, rainy and windy weather here in the PNW.

It's all about proportion... find the correct proportion of length and line, you will look great.

Plainly and simply: mid-calf booties are not flattering, unless you've got very long legs. The same goes for trousers which end inches above your ankle. Most of us want to elongate to improve overall elegance. So, do wear boots coming up to your knee with a skirt, or even overknees with a mini-skirt. I find Chelsea boots work best, but I steer clear of mid-calvies.

Only way short ladies can get away with mid calf booties is if they have slim very slim tiny calves any shape at all in the mid calf really throws the leg proportion off making the legs look even shorter. The plus side to “shapely” calves is they look great in shorts.

Forgot to add, regret not buying some Aldo booties in suede, heels wooden colored chuck heels they were on Macys on clearance but that day I took my mom shopping and didn’t bother. Should have gotten them very cute now that I see your tips! Also, years ago I had a couple of wide leg from Express not super wide and nicely fit on the buttocks. A few friends asked me if I had lost weight?! That was nice! They were cotton real nice pants. I been a marathon runner when I wore them to a party and my friends though I had lost the weight rapidly. Nope! Nice trick with pants should get them again. I’m 5’3 have thick legs but shapely firm and have gotten compliments on them. But still is a struggle dressing petite. My shoulders are narrow. Curvy body.

Love the tip of wearing white boots or booties. I have booties from Fisher also I think the white ones actually. Bough a few long as well as booties all in great sales at Macys before the pandemic so just started being able to wear them not going out as much. I like Frank Sarto shoes they all have been comfortable more than Nine West some haven’t been as comfy. Need to get some animal prints now that I see your videos I found them a bit of a challenge but they sure are cute! Wouldn’t it be cute to find a small matching purse for that matching touch instead of a blouse (don’t have one yet). Learning so much! I’m doing my laundry and played the videos twice in case of mixing something. So much fun to dream of fashion tips! Love, love boots! All kinds! Uhhh! Hardest challenge for me would be to wear those thick soles Dr. Martin. Would I look like an elf? Need to learn how to carry those. Lol! Or similar those can get pricey. I’m pale too, so I got some cream colored wool tights (from Trasparenze) that match my cream boots. I find that mini skirts and long sleeved mini dresses look the best in fall/winter with the tights and booties. Knee length didn’t work for me.
