About a year ago, when I was originally starting to get serious about golf, I was originally fitted into ZX4’s but I stubbornly opted for the more popular TM Sim2 max game improvement irons. Then I quickly graduated to the Mizuno JPX921 forged, and shortly afterwards to the Mizuno Pro 223/225 combo set. Recently, I was at the local golf shop and the rep gave me a few to try out since he said my ball flight was too high with my current clubs (existing clubs were still under warranty). He gave me the TM790s and the ZX7’s. I told him there would be no way I’d be able to hit the ZX7s, but much to my surprise, when I swung the ZX7’s they felt amazing and I ended up loving them! When I was starting my golf journey I could not hit these to save my life, and now they are my gamers! I am ecstatic and cant wait to continue to grow and evolve my golf game!

I’ve tested several different sets over the last 6-8 months and these are the ones that stuck for me. ZX Utility in the 4 iron, ZX5 5 and 6 iron, ZX7 7-AW. Best feeling irons I’ve ever hit and they fly beautifully. Sounds great and zero fliers with the ZX5 long irons. Thanks for the review!

simply put...YES. Great to finally see Srixon getting some love on your channel and a few others that previously didn't have access to them or simply chose to ignore them. The ZX7 is what you'd need throughout to flight it lower with the long irons. There's no lack of versatility/workability.

I think ZX7 is more forgiving than Titleist T100 and ZX5 is more forgiving than Mizuno Pro 225. Feel is amazing. Just an unstoppable combo. Well done Srixon.

The shafts (most likely Nippon Modus stock) are why you are hitting it so high. If you got fit for these irons, some KBS C-Taper 120s, or $-Taper 120s would allow your shot making skills to shine. I have also noticed that the new lighter weight DG shafts (105s or 120x) seem to kick a little lower as well and launching the ball about 3 degrees higher than the heavier shafts.

I recently purchased ZX5 irons with KBS Tour 90 shafts, and I like them a lot. They don't have a lot of offset, which I like. They look great at address. The sole design does make a difference. We have hard, tight lie fairways here in Arizona and the clubs work well interacting with the turf. I like a high ball flight, and the ZX5s support that.

I currently have Callaway Mavrik Pro's, which I really like. I recently tried Mizuno jpx 921 hot metal (didn't really like) and Srixon ZX7. The Srixon surprised me at how good they felt. If I didn't buy irons last summer, I would buy them or the ZX5.

I added the ZX7's to the bag a few couple months ago and I have to tell you these are the best irons I have ever hit, (I've played too many to name). The launch window is just perfect and the feel is great. If you are looking at new irons you have to hit these.

I am an older mid to high handicap golfer. I have a blended set of ZX4 and ZX5 on Miyazaki shafts. I was playing Calloway Rogues. Once you get used to them being a tad shorter (Less lofted) I find them quite nice. I am still learning how to chip with them. I have the ZX5 Driver and woods as well. they are very good.

I just ordered a set of the ZX7's... waiting for them to come in. Tested them out at a fitting and the dispersion was so tight.... even on big mishits. I think a lot of that comes from the VT sole. They are beautiful irons too. Thought about the long irons in the ZX5s but just didn't like the difference in feel and performance. Great video! Thanks for the review.

I’ve been gaming zx7s and absolutely love them. Just picked up the zx7 driver and replaced my Sim2 with it. And the ZX 3+ wood is making as well. Overall. They did great this year

I play the ZX7's and they are awesome. Played the 745's before. Srixon irons are fantastic, so underrated. So much easier to play than other forged CB irons. BTW, I don't think you can steal Chris Dennis's "shtick" without him being there. :). D-lightful! It s just not the same hearing that from you sir!!

To be fair Srixon have made amazing players cavity irons for the last few years now. They just havnt paid much in promotion and havnt had as much exposure as other brands. I play the Z785s and they are awesome.

Yesss I’ve been waiting for this! I play ZX5 4-6i and ZX7 7-9 and they are so good. High flying, forgiving, consistent. Spin is a touch low but that was easily solved for me through a fitting and slight weakening of lofts

Don’t feel that way. I play ZX7 4-PW, and they are the best irons I’ve ever played. Switched from the Callaway Apex Pro 19. Sounded like it was the ZX5 he has more issue with.

Don’t worry about feeling flat, the ZX7 is the best feeling club that I have hit, the reason that JR feels that they fly higher is because that’s what the ZX5 series are designed to do. I have a 4 iron in both ZX7 and ZX 5 and the ZX5 clearly launches and flies noticeably higher

I switched my Mizuno-z out for Honma-z....the Honma clubs feel better, to me, and many who play Srixon say they feel better than Mizuno. It’s really an individual preference.

To me it proves you need to test all these clubs for yourself, I have just had a fitting with friends and I found these where the best for me, zx7 suited me, but zx5 where close, I’m a natural low hitter and these gave me slightly high flight than normal, just wish I could afford to buy them now though lol, best part of these clubs are the price, in australia they are $100 cheaper a club compared to all the big brands

Well gotta say, you are the only one I’ve watched that is down on the Srixons. Everybody has ranked them at the top. Guessing you haven’t got fit, but they offer the style, versatility and forgiveness. I own a set of previous models (Z745s), and they’re still amazing. And I plan to move into the ZX7s. 6/10?!? Crazy. It’s close, but I’d say Srixon may have best irons on the market. (Ask ol’ non-contracted Koepka as well).

Nice video. Flirted with the idea of these for a bit and almost went with them. One thing though the modus3 shaft is a higher launching shaft. I feel like if you were to have the longer irons fitted to you with a different shaft you would probably get along with them much better than you did. Good video none the less. I’ll have to go and try these before I possibly get these as a back up set. Really looking forward to your video of the utility iron

When I got new irons last year I was torn between Callaway Apex and Srixon Z545. I went with the Callaway Apex only because I preferred the “Smoke” color but those Srixons were soooo good! Srixon irons with zip core wedges are a great combo. Just curious about your versatility concern, would you think about playing a ZX7/Z-Forged combo? BTW… Still here

I bought the ZX5's,from PW to Driver,but haven't used them yet.Still improving my game with the Z565's,then I've got the Z765's I got on special next then if I live long enough I'll finish off with the ZX5'S. Only ever use Srixon balls too,from Ladies Soft to AD333 to Distance.Gloves as well. I'm sponsored by Srixon. They just don't know about it.

Can’t you hit those irons in your Trackman simulator as well please , so that we can see swing data ? I hit the ZX 5’s and 7’s last week in Precision Golf and the feel and numbers were far better than the Callaway’s , Mizuno ‘s PXG’s and 770’s respectively.

Funny I just went for an iron fitting and the data recommended the 921 hot metal or the ZX5 also the i500. The i500's just didn't feel or look that great. I'm getting confused with all the data the fitting for recommended the recoil 95 f3 shafts for both irons. Can you please give some advice which way to go.

Ive always thought when I play a round of golf I shouldn't play off the white tees/competition tees unless its in a comp but then to me if I don't play off the tees im not going to get the practice in to play in competitions whats your thoughts on this? The irons do look unreal too 😍

James, I think the shafts aren't well suited to you. A different set of them would have allowed you to get your ball flight much lower. ZX7s are possibly the best value irons available today.

It’s the shafts not the clubs throwing it high. Try them with a DG S300 shaft. Just ordered them. Tried everything else newer and nothing compared. Was put off by the price (too low since I only buy once every 8 years) but they were the best for me.
