"let them eat cake" was said by another french queen way before marie. but the people desperatly wanted to get rid of the monarchy so the rebellion used it in their propaganda against the queen, who did wear the most expensive dresses and versaille was decorated and the most expensive everything, they ate the most expensive anything and partied with the most expensive stuff imaginable while the French people starved in the streets. i still love marie, she was a child, never loved by her mother never ment to be a queen but dragged into marriage with a child king. very unfortunate but her image and (somewhat distorted) memory will live on

Also, almost 10 years before révolution she did a lot of effort to stop spending. Without mentioning that all her spending didn't worth much in the french economy at first. She was one of the queens who spend the less in history actually. Also she would often give money for charity.

I love the PERFORMANCE of this. It's notjust the ASMR there's something about your interpretation which is really sympathtic. Like she's smiling and talking about the tea and balls to avoid the problems but you can see underneath that she's unhappy and scared. It's really compelling- you're a great actress.

That was an amazing costume and I loved the props, wig, and your makeup! And, you picked a perfect green screen image for the background. Although not one of my top favourite history subjects (but up there) is the French revolution and the French Monarchy, I absolutely love this, although I'm not completely french I do have french ancestors (as of right now I don't know much about their history so I couldn't tell you if they were aristocratic or peasants) but such beauty and elegance was the time of the French Monarchy... At least for the rich and influential people of France. Anyways thank you for making such an amazing video!

She became queen as a teenager who certainly was never taught how to run a country at all, and neither was her husband. It was just handed to them and "Ok, good luck." They weren't exposed to everyday French life & all the suffering. While things needed to change in French society, the main reason for their debt wasn't her lavish lifestyle but the French support of the American Revolution, (as France had a kneejerk reaction to go against England lol) It's kinda like how today Boomers think Millennials can't afford homes because of avocado toast but it's really because of trickle-down economics. Either way, I really don't think assassination was necessary. Also, they killed most of her children who did literally nothing wrong. That's messed up. Plus they had a monarchy again with Napolian less than 50 years later so it's not like it had a lasting impact......
