Eyeball planets are strange worlds where one side faces their star at all times, but they might actually be a good candidate for life, and a place we may find refuge in the far future.
Also, there may be a lot more of them out there than we think. So let's talk about these strange places in the universe.

This reminds me of one of the more memorable Star trek Voyager episodes. The crew of Voyager encountered an alien culture that did not have music. After the crew introduces them to music the alien culture quickly embraces it but merely as an expression of mathematics. Their compositions were nothing you could dance too or find soothing as the math behind the notes is what they enjoyed.

Eyeball planets sound so interesting - like the perfect setting for a fantasy story or something lol... Half the planet is desert, half is ice and the border between the two could be a habitable paradise.. Something about that concept is ridiculously fascinating to me. I so wish I could live long enough to visit an exoplanet or even be the first person to set foot on a planet. They could have like planetary retreats/resorts where you vacation on a planet with nobody else there.

I'm talking about all the death and horror that the world has been experiencing non-stop since the beginning of humanity and we along with Jason Alexander were just shielded from it in the 80s and 90s. Point is, we might find habitable planets. We might actually get to them, in say 200 years or more. But death and murder will follow us there as well. Just look at Star *_Wars_*

Considering that only like .3 percent of the universe's potential lifespan has passed so far, we are definitely some of the earliest living things that will have ever had existed and life will spawn way after human beings are gone.... Extremely likely scenario and partial Fermi paradox answer.

The only thing worse for the environment than the commercial for the McDLT was the styrofoam packaging they used to sell them (and other products, like the pancake breakfast) in. I still have some of those empty shells from that packaging that my parents kept, thinking they would use them for something later, just sitting in the garage in a stack. Seriously though, using the McDLT (hot-side-hot, cold-side-cold!) as a metaphorical learning tool to describe the solar dynamics between an eyeball planet & their host-star was great. Thanks Joe!

The problem is that the proper sound for Charon does not exist in english. It should be pronounced like Mikhail in russian or like jalapeño in spanish. Now, if it all sounds greek to you and you 're stuck with CH as in child or K, go with K. I hope that was helpful.

@@user-dn9wv8pr1i if we were doing the real Greek word yes, then it would be pronounced kind of like "haa-ŕon" (correct me if I'm wrong), but the guy who named it says it as "Karen" so either he himself named it wrong or that's just what we all have to call it now haha
