We may not have solved every scramble. But with enough persistence, dedication and a little bit of luck. We still won’t have 👉👉

idea: when solving one of these puzzles, you're probably gonna turn your original formation into several other formations before the solved state each move results in a brand new state for the puzzle, and since you're solving from there, you're arguably solving all of those formations as well so if you divide the total solving time for a puzzle with the average moves it takes to solve it, you're still solving every scramble in a sense, but far quicker (i especially think this should be applied to the 2×2 because i reckon it'd be pretty funny)
@shaykarni485010 ай бұрын
I thought of it too, but if you take for example a normal 3x3 - if it takes you 60 moves to solve it, you would be solving 60 positions, but not 60 new ones. For example, I think you can safely say that after you're done with F2L, you wouldn't come across any new positions, and potentially even a few moves before F2L is done you wouldn't get a new one
@abugidaiguess10 ай бұрын
@@shaykarni4850 okay sure, that is true so new solution: only count scrambles that are as far from being solved as possible (highest minimum moves to solve) since you're going to reach the formations that are closer to being solved and also we're already being pretty generous with the maths, like we got aliens and super-intelligent dogs involved just to make the numbers neater
@Meow_dasKatze10 ай бұрын
If you've ever tried to finish a sticker book you know that the fact that theoretically there were enough people and solves to solve every possible 2x2 Scramble doesn't automatically mean we have actually solved all of them. There are probably a lot of dublicates. And also you need at least 4 moves for the Scramble to be legal. Because of that I think especially out of the

There have been over 10k competitions. If there is an average of 40 2x2 solvers at each and an average of 1 round of 2x2, and each person does an average of 12 practice solves, that already hits the number. Plus they’ve prolly done at least 100 at home, so I think we have.

If you do a +6 turn on a clock, you go through 6 different scrambled states within 1 move. Also, every move made when scrambling and solving contributes to the total number of different scrambled states so technically it's far more realistic that we have or at least could solve every clock scramble

Well... the problem with the 2×2 is duplicates. I mean, if you imagine solving every scramble except one, you would need to solve 3.6 million more cubes to solve that one duplicate. And to solve the previous one, it would have taken 1.8 million tries. It is the same reason it takes 2.1 thousand people for every one to have a unique birthday even tho there are only 365 days
