Best sledge I ever heard came from a wicket keeper to his own fielder. The fielder was at cover, when the batsmen went for a very quick single. Running in from cover with a slight opportunity to run either batsmen out with a quick pick up and accurate throw he got it completely wrong. Not knowing which end to throw at, he miss fielded the ball and when he did pick it up he went to throw to the wicket keeper but the ball fell out of his hand. All the wicket keeper could say was. "How can anyone with half a brain be in two minds at once"? Needless to say it was a few minutes before the laughing stopped and play restarted

Sending lots and love and support from India. I used to play cricket at district level in my U-17 days and later in my university days. Met an accident and tore my ACL. Became a sports administrator with the Government of India and gradually lost my touch with cricket. Though I watch cricket on television but seldom go to ground. Watching your videos makes me feel like I'm batting. I look at the ball as it is coming towards the screen, I see where it's pitching and i try to play it in my head. That's what this POV has done to me. I feel confident enough to pad up again. And try all these shots which I've been playing in my mind again and again. Ordered myself an auto bowling machine..I'll install it in backyard and will try all these shots. Might even hit the ground. Helmet cam is going to revolutionize the way we watch and perceive cricket. There's something about this which involves you more. Thanks for the initiative. You're doing a great service to the game of cricket. Good luck

Very enjoyable watching these GoPro batting videos. Takes me back to my playing days. Had some pretty hostile sledging from a medium fast bowler who decided to call me a "F***ing **** and f***ing w*****r" after every ball he bowled me. Wasn't very nice. Perhaps I should have laughed like you did in the video but he would have ratcheted up more with "You laughing at me you ****!" I threw my wicket away trying to smash him out of the ground but before he got me I enjoyed chipping the ball between fielders for a few overs. Keep up the good work. Cheers M

I will always remember a game I played at premier league level, waay above my standard but our 1s were in the top division that year and were short. Team we were playing (top of league) were notorious sledgers and had a demon pace bowler who was probably the worst of the lot. Our team was mainly young lads who many were a bit afraid of facing him so I ended up going in at 3. So after the usual jip from their gobs, first ball came, smashed it back over his head into the car park. I knew I wasnt going to last long, just wanted to make a statement. 3rd over came he resorted to bouncing balls, one of them ended up in a nearby field. Another full and wide ball, another swing and that one went over his head for six more. 5th over, couple of wide ones I swang and missed, then he bowled a straight one and rearranged my timbers. Not giving him a chance for a verbal send off, I straight away looked at him and said 'thats not fair, you are not allowed to bowl straight to 3rd teamers', letting him know he had just been carted for 3 sixes by a third teamer, Needless to say, he was pretty quiet after that.......
@jasonclaridge2623 Жыл бұрын
I am a bowler who always struggled with the bat. I remember a game where I turned up 1/2 hour late and was greeted with "Pad up". I was going in at 9 and when I went out their opening bowler was still going and he was the one that took out our top order. Back story on my batting issues was that I was afraid of the ball and my first movement was back foot away from ball with front foot maybe following. Keeper turned to me after some chip shots off of middle (don't know how I was doing it) for runs and said "You are crap at batting", to which I replied "I know, but how bad is your bowler.... Can't even get me out!". I now have a reputation that when I go out the keepers don't want to talk to me anymore hahahaha. I use it to shut off between balls.

Smart batting here, quick singles, hitting in gaps, and not sledging back :) In Australia you not only be sledged more, they will give you heaps of chin music [bouncers] too.

😂Don't think the pitches here help with chin music! Need a good Aussie bouncy pitch..

Amazing! Yes, I'll be on holiday there from Monday. Saw that there was a friendly then, got hold of the club and asked if I could have a match. 👍

Is this reserve league? Deceived by the glacial pace of the bowlers
