The one I heard was similar except that it felt like she was stepping on knifes with each step and when she couldn’t win the princes heart for her to stay human she had to stab him in the heart the night of his wedding . She didn’t have the courage to stab him even tho her sisters were encouraging her from the ocean. So she stabbed herself and threw herself into the waves to become seafome

Fun fact: The Grimm's Fairytales did NOT belong to them. The brothers traveled around Europe mainly Germany hearing village's stories. The stories are so dark because these villages were sad and poor and wrote stories that would reflect on themselves. A lot of the stories are about princesses because they wrote about the life they didn't had and because this was during the time Germany had Kings and Queens. There are many versions of these classics because travels try to remember the best they can and tell it to their village after days of walking or they change the story to take ownership. The very original authors are unknown but the Grimm Brother's job was to only travel and hear these stories and write them down. Also almost very Disney castle you see is based off of a real castle in Europe, mainly Germany. The kingdom of Arendelle in Frozen is very much based off of the little town of Hallstatt, Austria (my home country!) just without the famous castle owned by Anna and Elsa. If you look at photos you'd be surprised.

The Cinderella tale I've read has Cinderella's slippers as being golden. But for the Disney film, the version used was actually based on a version by a French author named Charles Perrault. He was the one who popularized the fairy godmother, the pumpkin carriage, and the glass slippers. There are so many versions of these tales and I find that so cool! I own the Grimm's and Anderson storybooks and just find them interesting. I also have never heard about the princess with no face tale. I have to do some research and discover more.

Fun fact: i actually knew the orginal story about rapunzel at a very young age, there was a certain channel that i would watch when i was 5-6 years old, it was basically a really old and 2014 animation channel. I watched the rapunzel one and never really thought much about it. But when i started to grow up, i realized that it was actually really dark and sad. When I was 7 I was bored of all those fairytails with a happy ending and so my brother told me about the original Cinderella story and I couldn't sleep one whole week :)

When I read the little mermaid as a kid, It said that she was a human at the beginning, and her dad did not want her to go outside, she did and when her dad found out he baneshed her and sent her to a ship to get torchurd, what they made her do was take a needle and thread & sew her legs together. Once she was done they dumped her into the ocean to die. She sinks to meet the sea witch and the sea witch makes a deal with her that for her to go back she needs to eat her tung. She does and she goes back to the surface and the witch gave her instructions on how o stay there. She must marry a specific king and then kill him. The king she has to marry is her father so she goes to the ocean ties her legs together put a handful of sand in her mouth & drounds herself. A prince saved her and they are set off to be married. They are running low on food so they have to go fishing. They catch the sea witch and force her to sit on the ship and die. They get married and she falls of the ship unintentionally drowning herself turning into a sea goddess, thanks for reading Edit: I hear a lot of people saying this is fake... ok then... I had a book called twisted fairy tales. When I was maybe nine? I read them all but the little mermaid was the worst. They had other really bad ones too. (I’m Snow White, the dwarves weren’t dwarves, they were children with their legs up to there knees cut off by there mother. And in sleeping beautie, aurora gets pregnant and because of this the prince who did it gets killed and aurora out of sadness tries to kill herself by poking holes in her arm with a spindal and bleeding out. She just passed out, has the baby and a different prince wakes her up. Forces her to kill the baby and marries her. After he kills her and inherited the throne) and I said it was the original by accident because I had that book too, and I got them mixed up. Sue me! Also when she went down the first time she never drowned. She only sunk to the bottom

Once I was in my classroom and I found these books. So I’m looking at one to read and I suddenly find Cinderella so I’m like “let’s read this!” So I take it to my desk and i start to read. And I find it really weird… I found out I was reading the grim ones. And im in like year 2 and this scares me so bad. I had nightmares for many months later.

The first or so "fairy tale" I read I believe was actually the dark version of tangled/Repunzle because I was born in a country where the Grim brother's "fairy tale" books are actually popular or so (And I loved that version some how and I still do now) After reading the dark version of Tangled/Repunzle I was like: The moral of the story is to never let down your hair if you have long hair because you'll never know what's coming for ya :>
