Both Masjid Putrajaya & Masjid Mizan has got its own Masjid Tour Guide. You can go in and see the internal, with a masjid tour guide. And it's free. At the right time, the guide wl even teach you how to do ablution and you can observe the prayers.

The tall tower called Minarets and serve multiple purposes. While they provide a visual focal point, they are generally used for the Muslims call to prayer (adhan, azan) - that's why speakers were up there. The biggest mosque (by capacity at 24,000 worshippers) located in Shah Alam, widely known as Masjid Biru (blue mosque). The most beautiful architecture IMHO is Masjid Wilayah located near MATRADE complex and the Federal Government Complex off Jalan Duta, in Segambut.

I think maybe you can ask some locals to bring you into the mosque. While I don't know how it is right now, but maybe the mosque attendants would give some leeway. Before this, it is ok to just go inside (not sure the Putra Mosque). And before that, remember to wear long pants and respect the place and the people who are praying. Hope you can take a quick tour inside the mosque. All the best!!!

Taman Saujana Hijau also good public park instead Putrajaya Botanical Garden. Putrajaya still ‘sleeping’ until 5pm in weekdays & you will see lot of people roaming around roundabout infront of Putra/Pink Mosque at 7pm-9pm. By the way, Putrajaya have one of largest Ramadhan Bazaar fest in Klang Valley (just beside second mosque you went, Masjid Besi/Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque)

If there's one thing that you shouldn't do in Malaysia, it's wearing black when outdoors.

So sorry you couldn’t do much when you went there. Most of the mosques allow visitors but must be properly attired or they will provide you with a robe. Best to check for opening and closing times and when the outlets are closed as some do take a day of rest in the week esp for restaurants.
