Notice that at about the 1:47 minute mark, Israeli soldiers are reacting to the slaughter and burning of Israeli women and children,... by swearing that they will build an Israeli village on that spot ?! .... not "kill all Palestinians" .... not "we will get you all and burn you all alive !" .... just --- we will survive and thrive -- the best revenge ever! (Plus it encourages "the other" to forgive and join,... not to plot more revenge deaths). Different world views: one barbaric - with no appreciation of tolerance, or law and order (I started off saying "animalistic" and not "barbaric"... but I can't think of any other species that seeks violent, deadly retribution for singular deaths...) , the other - life-affirming, always seeking to live and thrive and helping others. A beautiful version of this amazing anthem and so true to the people of this land. I lived in Israel for 3 years during the Gulf War when Sadam was sending gas rockets over to Israel. But I also attended an Israeli and Palestinian gathering, it was in secret and just so beautiful with young people, their are definitely some very good Palestinians out there but there has been a lot of conditioning that they do not have peace. This was in 1985 a lot has happened since then for these people. But maybe one day they can choose to live with Israel instead of against us. Israel is such an amazing place and experience and in times like this the whole nation comes together in love. I grew up singing Israel’s national anthem in Spanish. I am proud to have attended an elementary school by the name State of Israel which was funded by Israelíes in Guatemala City. Each of our classrooms had the picture of one of Israel’s heroes like Golda Meir, Moshe Dayan, David Ben-Gurion, etc. I will always love Israel.
