People give soccer players a lot of grief. But my high school started doing this in the 90s. We started a soccer team my Sophomore year. Football coach was tired of missing extra points. Invite one of my friends from the soccer team. They bring him in practice, put him in pads. He drills a 35 yard field goal with pressure coming at him. Coach welcomes him onto the team on the spot. Only has to come to practice on Thursday and Friday games and can still play soccer. Makes sense to me.
@hgriff143 ай бұрын
our kicker in high school was a soccer player that practiced for like 20 minutes a day and then went home. i think he still has the record for around a 50-55 yard kick and he didnt miss his senior year outside of a couple blocks.
@ggggloveking94193 ай бұрын
Yep. We had a soccer player banging them from 50 all day in practice in the 90s in HS
@elileubner9493 ай бұрын
they get grief because they fake injuries and are the biggest cry babies in any single sport on the planet pretending to have an obliterated shin and then back in the game immediately is too common in the sport if you put any of them in pads to actually get tackled they would literally die. that’s why they get so much hate but being a good kicker isn’t the same thing those soccer guys can make the best field goal kickers ever but that doesn’t make them tough

Graham Gano, Carolina Panthers (2018). Brett Maher, Dallas Cowboys (2019). Each, 63 yards. When Matt Prater, Denver Broncos (2013) did it at Mile High, liek Elam before him, the credit was given to the thin air.
