I had an incredible match when we grabbed the final objective with no reinforcements and we all hummed the battle hymn of the republic while rounds came in like the hornets nest. This game has so many awesome organic moments.

This clip seems like it is actually a fairly good representation of how morale in the face of an attack might work in real life. The officers trying to keep cohesion telling people to hold, knowing it's the best chance of survival, and to break the formation either way opens up vulnerabilities. If you imagine yourself as something like a general or player in a Total War game, and this video is the representation of one unit in battle, it gives you a good perspective. Historically as well, it brings to mind battles like Culloden where proper drill and training put an end to what was a devastating charge tactic aimed at causing panic, demoralisation and route. I know it's a video game, but this is a fantastic tool for learning how people *might* have acted in battles historically.

Interesting you mention Culloden here, as it doesn't really apply as an example of the terrifying Highland charge due to the soldiers being malnourished, unmotivated, large numbers of soldiers having deserted, the ground being soft and soggy, etc. Credit is due to Britain for maintaining cohesion, sure, but they didn't face the type of charge that the Highlanders were known for (they shouldn't have fought the battle at all, truth be told) and the HIghlanders themselves didn't give their best effort here due to the factors mentioned above (particularly Charles' insistence on fighting on the marshy open ground, ignoring George Murray's advice that they not do that).

ONE OF THE BEST CHARGES IVE SEEN ONGGG only dwarfed by the 100+ players on our team alone i rallied on foxhole for a massive charge across a swamp/river spent 30 minutes irl charging at them so much there artillery litterly ran out of ammo they also started running outta machine gun ammo hence why we managed to get across spent another 20 hours in and out fighting trying to hold on to maybe like a quarter mile worth of land we managed to take and then lost it cuz enemy tanks arrived

Playing in public matches is often toxic snd typically devolves into a couple idiots ruining the match flag trolling or just generally being assholes. Organized matches with an established group is where the game shines.

I would recommend to try the 2 hour limit and refund if you truly dislike the game. But if you like the game and want it to be less toxic, then trying out a regiment wouldn't be a bad idea. Most don't hate you for trying 1 game then quit because it's not your thing.

War of Rights is pretty good, there are couple of different events going on besides ours that are usually maxed out servers. If you wanted hard-core reenactment style fighting, I personally have not found any regiments besides semi seriousness with saying the actual rank of the person and asking for permission to speak and stuff.
