If I'm not mistaken, Raro was an NZ territory until around 1966 when they became semi-independent with certain legal ties to NZ. I've been to both countries and for all intents and purposes, the Cooks are New Zealand Junior. Kiwi accents, money, products in stores, etc.
@angie235753 жыл бұрын

FYI if you think Rarotonga is the real islannd vibe because there isn't a mcdonalds, kfc or starbucks you have been living under a rock. Fly to any of the other islands in the Cook Islands (aside from Aitutaki) and then we can talk about "the real islands." We dont spend our days relaxing and sipping on coconut water 😄😄😄

I should also mention that I like the exposure you're bringing to the Cook Islands. Just had to laugh when "the real islands" were mentioned

Haha we hear ya, we know the difference ourselves but keep in mind our video is intended for our audience... viewers from the US and UK have their version of ‘islands’ and they’re far from, comparatively Raro is bliss! We do need to get back and show them real reaaaal islands of the Cooks tho!

I was fully expecting at least double figures of daneger saying 'island vibes' but I was surprised to only hear it once 😂 cook islands is on my list but the flight time from the UK is slightly off putting

Jetstar hours look a little inhumane. But I saved about 200nzd on the fare compared to air new zealand

Yup we can't fault that flight, saves you some cash! ENJOY!

It is a very beautiful paradise island. Is it very expensive to live or to visit Rarotonga?

It's such a beautiful place! Accommodation would be the biggest expense but everything else seemed very reasonable :)
