I hope artificial intelligence elevates the masses' standard of living and allows people to focus on living fulfilling lives. People seem scared because they don't want the artificial intelligence revolution to be a zero-sum game where a few excellent programmers become wealthy, and everyone else is left behind being controlled and miserable. We can get to a better society even in a capitalistic framework. I applaud those who become very rich shaping the A.I. future. At the same time, those who aren't involved also need to benefit significantly so that everyone can cheer this technological revolution on. Everyone won't be rich, but I hope everyone will be better off. A middle-class and even financially challenged lifestyle will hopefully look amazing in the future compared to what we have now. It will free up people to become the people they want to be and do the things they want to do. I want a society that is more fulfilled with their lives. I am also looking forward to my Jettsons robot maid that cleans my house. LOL.

A.I. is furiously, even madly, overestimated. I bet my life (and even your beauty) that this episode in computing will be a flawed damp squid. The crooks will be all over it breaking it to pieces. We have to go straight to quantum computing. Let's see who gets there first.

I completely agree about quantum computing being the Ai computing interface. 100%! Absolute requirement .. or other computing substrates such as those being explored in biology. Either way I we need a new architecture to really achieve the scaled goals in the field

Do you believe there is a possibility that A.I becomes smart, in a sense of being conscious of itself? Or as you said.. If the the right leaders get behind it and outsource wisely it will remain a powerful assisting tool for humanity?

I don’t think the way we presently build Ai systems will lead to conscious Ai. But I do think Ai built on quantum architecture or biological substrate presents new questions
