i think tech people should be jumping with joy because of possibilities. Others should be shaking in their boots eg artists. What I also see is the possibilities of being an entrepreneur. People who are able to augment AI the best will have an unfair advantage, so much so that even companies like Amazon might want to stem the reliance of AI. If it takes one guy to do 1000s of jobs, how many people would be able to compete and surpass corporations.

What are the strengths of AI? 1. Pattern recognition. Ability to sieve through lot of data for patterns. 2. Prior art reproduction. Ability to generate procedures based on publicly available prior art. What it not so good at yet. 3. Creative or privately held processes. Given the above two, I doubt that cybersecurity will remain a hot field. Only the creative aspect ie, devising attach approaches and defense methods would remain something that requires human intervention. The remaining bulk of the work can be handled by AI on both side of the fence, ie black hats and white/grey hats.

What's "Digital literacy " ? (by GPT4) Digital literacy refers to the skills, knowledge, and abilities required to effectively use digital technologies and navigate the digital world. It encompasses a wide range of skills, including: 1. Basic computer skills: Understanding how to operate computers, smartphones, tablets, and other digital devices, as well as using essential software programs, apps, and tools. 2. Internet and search skills: Knowing how to access, navigate, and search for information online, evaluate the credibility of sources, and avoid misinformation. 3. Digital communication: Being able to communicate effectively using various digital channels such as email, social media, instant messaging, and video conferencing. 4. Digital etiquette: Understanding and following appropriate online behavior, respecting others' privacy, and being aware of potential cyberbullying or harassment issues. 5. Online safety and security: Protecting personal information, using strong passwords, recognizing and avoiding scams, and being aware of potential threats to privacy and security. 6. Digital content creation: Creating and editing digital content like documents, images, videos, and presentations, as well as understanding copyright, plagiarism, and fair use guidelines. 7. Social media and networking: Using social media platforms for personal and professional purposes, building online networks, and understanding the impact of digital footprints. Being digitally literate is crucial in today's technology-driven world, as it enables individuals to access information, connect with others, engage in online communities, and navigate an increasingly digital workforce.

The 50-60 year old developers were paid danger money to undertake Cobol development as the skills were so scarce! Anyway the company decided to replace the mainframe with...Oracle! lol! There's always legacy tech around if you're expert in it, but you shouldn't be afraid to adapt new tools into own suite. Right now AI is at the point of being an enhanced search engine that can patch together resources from different web sites. It makes mistakes but it can help save development time. It will improve but I'm not yet convinced it can do everything. One role that will need humans for some time is analysis and testing. Fantastic material! Indeed, there is miscommunication between cybersecurity market and big tech companies creating consumer products. Last week, I attended the RSA conference here in San Francisco (~3,000 attendees, 600 exhibitors). I asked many business representatives at their stands about openings, and they all reacted the same way: "Yes, we desperately need more pairs of hands! Do you know anyone who is available and might start now?" Yes, most of cybersecurity companies are not household names like Google or Apple that you can impress your relatives with at Christmas party. And yet, they have stable business models, are anti-fragile and resilient to recession, and produce services that are clearly at the benefit of us all. And if you are a seasoned tech professional, your competencies are easily transferable to cybersecurity.

For the ones who were here in the 90s and 2000s know that this prediction seems pretty unreasonable, back in the days everyone used to wear different hats and most digital people were called webmasters. Seems the tendency goes towards complexity and specialization not the opposite. Yes we will be able to do more but at the same time we will be even more specialized than today.

As someone who works on solving digital inequality for refugees, I worry about those who missed out on education due to problems in their home country such as Ethiopia, Sudan or Ukraine, before coming to Australia, USA etc.

Great video! I appreciate the insights you've shared, but I have to disagree with some of your conclusions. There are futurists, like Ray Kurzweil, who predict AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) could be a reality by 2029. In fact, this prediction is one of the reasons why experts in the field have penned an open letter calling for a 6-month pause on AGI development to address ethical concerns. This would mean that every job you mentioned, including cybersecurity, could eventually be automated. That's why we're seeing a rise in the development of courses related to AI prompt engineering, as it's a critical skill set for navigating this rapidly evolving landscape. sorry if it comes across as critical. Keep up the great content!

It always baffles me how people in industries like construction and agriculture say they don't need digital literacy skills. That's like saying "I don't need to learn how to drive a truck because I have a wagon to haul hay" 100 years ago.

In IT or software, no skills are fixed, technology changes, and companies change it’s software from time to time, just adapt and learn new stuffs by taking courses.

I feel Product management and Product design should be added to your list as technology evolves new products in various areas from A.I, Cloud, etc still needs this two skill sets to develop a good product out there as well as for each product most especially developed either in machine learning a product manager still needs to work with such product team to develop that and achieve a great market ecosystem just a thought though.

In my view, most of the jobs would still exist by 2030. Only change I forsee is availability of more automation tools at the disposal of employees to do their jobs. There will be new jobs to create models of species behavior, different cultures and ideology for AI to build intellectual capital to do all sorts of analytics to help make decisions or run operations.

Technology is changing, and my computer is 7 yrs old. It's about doing more with less and faster. It's about the experience. Now you go to the dentist and need a crown - it's made while you wait.. AI will be like the HP12c, which was massive in finance. The tech jobs will be contractor jobs and your job will be like the handyman. good job blue nails

Excuse me my english, Im from mexico city, I would like share too: Gartner IT too should help us for have vision Business IT etc. I have 20 years old IT, from developer, PM, consulting, business analyst, and last I studying datascience and machine learning, the trick as like says you is never leave learn, and empathy with diferent culture. Our work repeative, and mechanical leave to IA, and we work should be management for 2 o 3 or 10 customers/business, and execution. Why not?, work 1 week, why not 4 days?, is a example or more work is you decision.

Hi Tiff: Just sub. to your channel. You are thinkig way down the road, and I like that. I am older person who is going into cybersecurity and software engineering. It is total mindset to learning and getting a job.l Tiff think of me as a guy that wants to work with your grandparents in the field of mental health. I want to use these two fields to pay for neuroscience stuff in the field of dementia. As this video shows, I am looking down the road from an aging perspective. Is the aging bias being blown out of the water. Yup. You can learn at any age. In my own journey Ms. T. it is important to look at cybersecurity from a business perspective or holistic view. You are spot on with the need for project management in software engineering and cybersecurity. Solid future insight. Keep up the good work. Your content is very practical.

I think by 2030, or maybe even by next year, what we are going to be doing mostly is controlling AI to do the heavy lifting for us, the coding and programming. We will have to be literate in the programming languages still to be able to command and revise the AI’s work. AI is just another tool, like Google has been for the past two decades, but just like the past two decades, we will have to know how to use it and verify it’s output. If we don’t know what to ask of it then it just becomes an unusable tool. A fictional example of this would be Iron Man and Jarbis. If Tony didn’t know what to do with Jarbis, he would just do basic everyday tasks, but being creative and well literate in engineering, he could control it to make the suits. AI alone wouldn’t be able to do something like that without the correct human input. It’s a bit of an out there example, but that’s how I see jobs going forward. Surgeons commanding AI to perform surgeries, Architects commanding AI to get the best quality of building while still being appealing, and software engineers commanding AI to build highly functional and secure software with all the right parameters
@TiffInTech Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing! Woah I didnt even think of Iron Man .Great example. Yes, it will be interesting to see what happens. The most important part is to continue to learn and grow!

@@ryanmanchikanti5265 hahaha yeah, but I doubt that machines taking over or becoming harmful will happen, specially if we learn to be ethical about it and evolve with them. The only way I see something bad happening with AI is governments using it for war or terrorists, but that’s where cybersecurity and the ability to manipulate them comes in

Absolutely every single company "that is flourishing" will 100% require digital tools and literacy to maintain economic stability and presence. Any company or project that isn't using these tools will be crushed and overwhelmed by the productivity of those that are completing the same tasks with AI tools and digital aids. Today's world is hypercompetitive and anyone who makes anything or does anything is in competition with the global market of others making and doing the same thing and the ones with the best tools will have the fastest and greatest reach as well as the highest output.
