Some may say it because at the end of the day it's a soap opera and we want drama. Summer is refreshing and predictably unpredictable. It's fun, which is why a fan of Summer is a fan in the first place. Ergo we support her and her deeds so we want her to succeed. You probably don’t see all the shit that happens in hollyoaks people being robbed beaten up murdered when you see a police van zooming past or stopping you take a look you see a fight at school as a kid or on the streets as an adult it’s your instinct to watch whether anyone likes to accept it or not seeing other people go through traumatic life shattering events is what interests people would you really sit and watch this every day if the whole village got along and loved eachother? actually usually if you have one of smthng ( single parent, amputee yada yada ) you often have twice the amount that somebody with two would have, since you'd focus on that one part which would make you receive twice the whatever ( such as receiving twice the love, being physically twice as physically adept to the point where your physical ability would be near exactly equal to an able bodied person. ) essentially, one of smthng = twice the benefits. also if you're born without or lose a body part you can actually hugely increase strength on the one side because you'd be focusing, which would again make you near exactly the same as an able bodied person. like summer actually has a ton of dexterous skill to where she can open doors with her foreshortened arm n hold objects with it ( such as bags or etc ). even though she might struggle sometimes, she's lived with this her whole life so being skilled n focusing on the nonforeshortened arm is pretty much like second nature. thank you for reading hun!! 🥺🥺💕💕
