Merideth its not a fear that should be minimalized. My step mom's first husband passed away in a farming accident just as you described. I dont say this to be morbid but to validate your fears. He left behind a wife , 2 teenagers, a 5 year old, and a 500 acre farm. It was devistating. Farming should never be taken for granted in safety protocals. There very much alone most of the time, and out of communication range. God bless. Love your channel.

A drop of lubricant/grease in the little winch mechanism would make cranking the auger of the grinder, much easier. Always safer to check on anyone on their own in the field or farmyard. You were not silly for being concerned. No need for gem membership on the Bernard farm. Exercise a plenty for free. Great show. 👏👏

@@123rogersk Lawrence is somewhere around 64 or 65 Meredith is like 44 or 45 this is information I got just watching their channel. I am 60 I farm much the same type of operation as they do on the we are in Western Pennsylvania about 25 miles from Ohio line well I should say 50 mi from Ohio line they are south of Us in North Carolina. We run a cow cap operation quite similar over there it's not quite as big run about 30 mama cows plus their cows plus animals were finishing generally are consensus as far as the cattle concerned just runs about 70 head. We are in Northwest Pennsylvania 50 miles east of the Ohio line. I get real charged out of watching them we spring cab they fall calf but other than that a lot of the activities we do and they do are quite similar, farming will make an old man out of you in a hurry pretty much all I've ever done and I'm 60 but my body's about 75 LOL

@@123rogersk well Kimberly this is guy again. Well we don't have a KZbin channel as of yet although I got my first smartphone a year ago and I really enjoyed watching other farmers and other parts of the country work we here are in Western Pennsylvania. By the way I have also in his first during my performing career driven truck I ran mail for a highway route contractor for a few years and I've also driven School bus I understand what you're saying about the parts shortages of that kind of been on both ends of that around here waiting for stuff but I do have a couple young people help me I got a 30 year old woman in a 17-year-old today boy that both help me a good bit they're not my own kids but they might as well be I haven't had to leave them by themselves yet but if I did they could handle things for a few days without me thanks for your interest keep your eyes open there's nothing in the offering real quick but after watching these other people and some of the things they do I think we're probably as interesting as a lot of them thanks again!

Meredith, your videos bring back some great memories of growing up in rural Wayne County Ohio. The farms around here are mainly corn, soybean, & dairy farms. We didn't grow up on a farm, (brother, sister, mom & dad) but we lived down the road a spell from some farms. We had horses, some sheep, cats & dogs. We were in the barns alot playing in the straw. I still remember my mom telling us how she liked the smell of freshly mowed hay. Every time I drive past a freshly cut hay field, (I think it has a sweet smell to it), I think of my mom, we lost mom in 1987, way to soon. Y'all work so hard to keep the farm going, Thank You Meredith for all the blood, sweat, & tears y'all put into it. I saw the video of the ice storm you had, keep your chin up, stand up straight, keep plugging away. If you only knew how many people in this country are right behind you everyday holding y'all up, you would be on cloud 9. I'm eternally grateful to you for keeping those memories alive Meredith.

My neighbor found out the hard way that they didn't have a 10 foot inside clearance. That was an expensive piece of pipe when you factor in the cost of a new tailgate window. The Bernard's definitely put the "family" in the phrase family farm. I know that I am not working the farm so my perspective is different, but that sure is a beautiful piece of land. Blessings.

I have tinnitus all because I didn’t wear ear protection. It’s like having your ear up against a constantly ringing phone. Wes was using that power blower without any ear protection. Being around loud farm machinery day in and day out has it’s consequences without anyone realizing it. Than the day comes when the phone doesn’t stop ringing...too late!!! Irrational fear is an emotion without basis. Rational fear is based on the facts. How many farmers die every year? You checking on the “foreman” can one day save his life or limb. Very smart, very, very smart. Love this channel! Thanks for feeding us!!!

Greetings and blessings from Ohio, y'all. First of all, any farmer worth their salt has to use baling twine! Second, well done, Wesley, blowing off the hog first. Many young people wouldn't have the foresight to think of that. The first tractor I was allowed to drive alone was a 1941 Farmall A. Grandpa told me not to go behind the house, and of course, at 9, first place I went was...behind the house. Learned 2 lessons. First, the muffler was a foot taller than grandma's clean laundry line, and second, grandpa had a razor strop, and knew how to use it! That tractor is still in our family, just a different branch, as I'm physically unable to drive it anymore. Love watching your adventures!

Hydraulic cylinder(s) (pump) or electric actuators, welded to a base frame under the front of the container, would allow you to raise the front to an appropriate angle to force the corn to the rear against a stop. Just a thought.
