If a boardgame doesn't have a small cardboard token that represents wheat or corn... is it really a game?
@jessehunter362 Жыл бұрын
it is not, with the notable exception of brass birmingham

My family plays Catan on occasion and my mother got wanted more than just cards to represent the resources, so she made a tray of physical items for each one and had us play with those instead. She had a pile of grey rocks for ore; she hand made little bags of wheat; made little red clay bricks; bundles of tiny sticks tied with string for lumber; and bundles of yarn for wool. It’s adorable.

“Hey I’m gonna need you all to stand up and leave for a few minutes.” “What? Why?” “I urgently need to film a KZbin video about my next turn.” But for real, this looks like a lot of fun keep being you! ^•^

This reminds me so much of ProZD's sketches where he's playing cow and milk tokens in MTG, except it's happening in a real life context. I have no idea what happened and it's a bit frustrating (in the sense that I that I can't follow it but I at least understand that this accomplished an incredible amount of progress in a very short amount of time and even if I understood the game I would have a hard time accounting for something like this happening, not because I'm in any way upset or dissuaded from engaging with future videos. From an outsider this is a bit inscrutable but I wouldn't be averse to learning more about the game so that I can appreciate this turn properly). Does anyone know if this game is usually like this or if this is just an exceptionally rare circumstance combined with intelligent strategy?

Tzolk'in has no chance-based elements so this is entirely replicable, probably, it's just very difficult because every action has some amount of turns you need to wait before you can do it and theres limited turns in the game. That's what the gears are for, you slot workers in the lowest point and they're moved up to more favorable actions one space per round. That's why I'm removing workers to perform actions. So yes, it's rare, but only because I'm very bad at the game and the stars aligned for this moment.

yea there's a lot of avenues to victory but the temples are the one thing you can't really ignore, heard the expansion makes them less purely essential though

You forgot, though - the hydromancy sphere progress track resets every hour because it's Sunday, and the sun dried up all the rain. So your triple fizzbin is only a double fizzbin, and you're short by half a victory point.
