Dave us one of the best all-round guitarists and a great song writer. No beef with Hetfield but Mustaine is a more talented musician if you ask me.

Dave is too sloppy, and james is rather mor.of a rhythm guitarist and even yet kirk is closer to him than hetfield. Kirk is just as sloppy but not on the same level. James has a better voice in terms of singing but now thats gone poop

CLIFF LEDER whays wrong with james form? He is a rhythm guitarist and thats it. He isnt a shredder and dave mustain uses speed in a badass way but alot of his solos are just way too repetitive and he lacks change. Martys solos where better

This is meaningless. He is comparing Dave's solos with James technique. Alright. But James proposes himself to play rhythmic guitar, when Dave on the video is doing the lead. So if you want to compare them, u have to compare on the same area, the rhythmic.

the one thing most people dont reaalize and pay a ttention to (if they knew what thye were talking about) is that both DAve and James are both the main composers of thier bands..for Daev ..he started as a lead guitarist...jaems starteed out as rythm but developed his owen lead style..very melodioc and bluey..dave deos both rythm and lead for the entire badn tho he deosnt do all the solos but more often than not he does the solos..

Everyone can play fast. I didn't claim that I was special. Anyone who practices to play fast (that means just about everyone who plays metal guitar) can play that in about half a year after picking up a guitar. But hey, don't let the fact that I didn't claim to be good get in the way of throwing insults at a strawman to defend your idol.

Actually those videos are of Dave Mustaine playing in Megadeth, which he is the rhyme guitarist for. But he still solos does vocals, and plays an all around more complicated rhythm than James in my opinion.

AND Doesn’t make sense to compare these two, even because they have different styles of playing, so Dave is very good in alternate picking and shredding, but at the same time, I think he can’t make a fast down picking as James does.
