You’ve right. All these people who are complaining about Danielle being rude or disrespectful the way she talks and take care of Ed, these people won’t even survive one day by themselves, taking care of Ed. They will be the ones who be crying for help because they would finally realize how hard it is to take care of the person who is hard of hearing who has dementia. Danielle does an amazing wonderful job taking care of Ed.

Danielle and Dan do not take care of Ed full time. Ed‘s son Mark is single and over 65 years old and yet he takes care of his father half the time for 3 - 4 days. I ask myself why nobody else seems to know this fact and why this baseless assumption of all the work being g on Danielle is not corrected?!

I really think it's the brain trying to process what the person thinks they're hearing and then trying to match that to the conversation. I went through this as I have late-in-life hearing loss in my forties. So I am a self-taught lip reader to augment my hearing aids.

Yes, Danielle. Basic, easy to understand words that he can easily understand, spoken loudly. He was a doctor, and he did understand what chatting meant, but now he is a doctor with dementia whose brain struggles to understand. The hearing loss makes it even more difficult. It's really too bad that he wouldn't leave his hearing aids alone.

It must make it harder for Ed that he can't hear you, then when he finally can hear you his dementia often means he almost instantly means he forgets you answered or he forgets he asked the very same question so he asks it again but again he often can't hear you so you have to keep answering, but he forgets he just asked the same question so he often asks it again...... One time Dan said this had been going on for about 2 hours, that must be so wearing for both you & Dan & must feel overwhelming or at times, no wonder you both get so tired & need a break, no matter how much you love the person anyone would..... 😂 ❤ With much love & gratitude for all your love & patience x
