There has been so much happening behind the scenes to line this up…I can’t even put into words how happy it makes us to know that this winter, Charlie is going to be safe, warm, and comfortable as he heals from this. Let’s be honest, we’re looking forward to it too! Can’t wait to fill you in on all the details, give you the grand tour and share our new home with you next Sunday! ❤ What did you think of the quick glimpse so far?!

To clean the fireplace glass, simply wet a cloth rag and rub it around in the ashes. Now, use this ash/water mixture (which has now become highly alkaline) to wipe away the soot on the glass. You will have to chase it with a glass cleaner for total clarity but this does the heavy lifting.

When you say "The Lake" you remind me so much of my Saskatchewan friends who are always saying, "We're going to "The Lake"! A friend from a far-off land used to hear this expression and imagined a huge lake in the middle of northern Saskatchewan! Over the years of my ministry in this province (36 years and counting!) I have learned to ask "Which Lake"? I know you probably want to keep the name/location of your "the lake" a secret, so we don't all land on you for a long weekend but your phrasing certainly triggers happy memories! By the way, I grew up on a family farm in Eastern Ontario that had a lake as part of its 200 acres, and I enjoyed snow-shoeing on its snow-covered icy icy surface in wintertime; and just relaxing alongside it in the summertime. I did not actually learn how to swim until I went to University, and finally took lessons.

So happy you found a property (with a view of a lake)for Charlie, you and the other fur babies to weather the winter months comfortably while you continue to work on your container home. As Real Estate investors this decision will also prove to be a wise business move. Amazing how a tech guy could repair the pickup truck and snow blower. And the line boys also show what a lot of training and work experience can contribute. And then the vet and nurses. Just imagine you would have to learn all they know and could not hire specialists. One life time would not suffice. Hurray for the pros!

My first year on my Acreage also involved me breaking all my cool outdoor equipment. I burned thru 2 belts and a tire on my ride on mower. I also had fun running over a drain cover for my water filter system. Put a hole in the siding and the window with the little rocks the mower kicked up. My chainsaw ate a chain. I NOW feel I am not alone because the previous owner said, "This never ever happened to me" Yeah, right! 😂😂😅 🎉🎉 love that Charlie is thru his surgery... what an awesome boy! Love you guys. This news was great btw. ❤

I know Charlie had to have surgery, but as a dog lover and owner, it breaks my heart when something happens to our fur babies. Poor Charlie has a poodle cut! I always feel so sorry for dogs when they come out of surgery: go to sleep and wake up with all sorts of crazy things done to them. I’m happy that you had access to vets who were willing to do surgery on an older dog and who could get you in so quickly! I’m looking forward to next week’s big reveal video! Have a great week!

@@maryannkom299 They explained in a previous (recent) video that since the Container home wasn't ready for winter they didn't want to spend another winter in the DOME, so they'll probably still be working on the container home while they live comfortably throughout the harsh season in the new cabin.

Here's a cool woodstove glass cleaning miracle tip I learned from my old logger neighbour on an island off the west coast: dip a wet paper towel or rag into your cold woodstove ashes and wipe the glass. Instantly clean. Apparently it's the lye in the ash that fuels the magic. Cheers guys
