the only nerf that has happend so far is with the trinket and weapon enchant wich btw got nerfed twice and still was very good. nerfing them was the worst option for blizz because they made the challenge feel like legion again. anyways im glad i paid 25k for them and got it done. only a bit sad i dont have my infinit gold glitch anymore but whatever

Yeah, he is basically a pro player and has to struggle with it. Until now I only got it with my BM hunter and wanted to continue with DH because of the set, but yeah... I die in phase one because my leech is too bad, though I did it with something close to 900 ilvl during Legion, but the current Mage tower is on a whole other level. I guess I really have to farm all the consumables for every class and spec and maybe even new gear... :(

Just a game changing tip in here. In the last phase, tank the boss right in the middle of the room before the first adds spawn. the pool will grow but it wont reach the edge, giving you plenty of time at the cost of less space on the edges. I had 30sec free time when I killed it. You're welcome :)

Edit* Once the first set of adds spawn just run to the edge, kill them with the delay dratnos was talking about then drag the boss to the edge and start kiting as per the video above. Enjoy your transmogs :)

I did the pool like you mentioned, but it takes up about 90% of the room. It seems like it does make dealing with the adds a little tougher. Since they take a straight line to him, and if you go far away, they’ll mostly be running through the middle of the room which is all covered in purple.

Just did it on my arms warrior. It is 100% much easier due to the impending victory talent that can heal you. I got to the final phase on my first try without potting, flasking, etc. Demon Hunter, I can barely get to the intermission phase, but I was able to do it on my arms warrior without having played that spec since last expansion. Seriously. Very imbalanced across classes!

for havoc specifically, frostbolt hits too hard, although its very possible to get past the xylem phase. xylem you have to play absolutely flawlessly to beat, but once you have it all down, it won't be very difficult to continuously kill him. the most overtuned part is the damage race when killing the shadow, you can barely kill the adds now.

The trick I use for that phase is to pull the boss close to the packs of adds that he spawns and cleave off them to generate massive amounts of soul fragments.

I finally got it!!! I used unbound chaos to rush out of ice... lots of healing. Save immolation right before he casts the ice cage and double jump/fel rush out.

@@pandap. i cleared it like 1 hour ago so it should work. The arcanecastthingie is a 5 sec notification. With 3 sexonds left you must run to middle , then it is easy to reach him afterwards. Do a few tries without consumables, just to focus on that. I also played with the timer enabled and noted when that phase ia. For example first one is at 1:30 after the fight starts . They are all on a timer so learn to anticipate them and not react to them

if u are getting trouble with last phase, did what i did. Set 2 sets, 1 for 1set phase and the other for the last one, go full versa on 1st and go full haste crit on the last. the trinks dont really matter if u are carreful with stats.

I had to go out of my way to collect an entire set of gear with gems, enchants, food, runes, flasks, potions, drums, ... Literally everything. Cyclotronic blast trinkets also feels like a must, it did 15k damage in P2. Also had to level my havoc all the way to 58. I tried at 52 and just couldn't make the damage check without the passive buffs you receive at levels 54, 56 and 58. With all of that, I managed to beat the boss in P2 with a decent bit of room to spare.

@@desolation1821 I made it to 14% on P2 twice when I ran out of space. Levelling to 60 gave me the boost I needed to finish with at least ten seconds to spare. I strongly recommend reaching at least level 58. :) And yes, that trinket is insane.

Yes your dh must be lvl 58 for the passives since dropping to lvl 45 wont give them to you, took me awhile to notice it

@@Yak-uj1so Yeah, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me because they claim the mage tower can be done by anyone level 45 or higher but it's so tightly tuned that's not really true. You need those passives. At least now we know. :)

Ravaged seed pod from first boss of emerald nightmare is the single biggest DPS gain for any class for the least effort. It drops a high DPS void zone at your feet on a 1 minute CD but it can make floor mechanics hard to see. P2 every add phase you drop it on boss for big free boss dam while you run out/kill the adds!

This tip helped me kill this stupid purple blob. Along with using haste/vers gear in p1, and swapping to haste/crit gear in p2. Ty! Trinkets in p1 were slimy consumptive organ (decent heal every 20s) and scale, and seed pod/phial for p2. Phial honestly wasn't great but it was all I had on the dh.

When I killed it the boss was at like 15% and on the last set of adds one of them went into the void zones with like 2% health, I threw glavie at it but it didn't die, I had to meta jump and stun it in the goop in order to kill it and then vengeful retreat out. I lived with like 3% health. Thanks for the guide, would not have been able to do it without this

sometimes in phase1 the boss will run toward the razor ice and then you aoe for soulfragments or if hes by the ball,disrupt and pull to the razorice.

I killed it on 54 pull. For phase 1 I used Blood-Spattered Scale (the tank trink from DoS) and Reactive-Defense Matrix(The tank trink from guardian of the first one) with 2-1-2-1-1-3-1 talents. Save ur empowered fel rush for the spikes and just double jump and fel rush out... You will get a lot of souls that will heal you. On 2nd phase, since I dont have any other trinkets I used Phial of Putrefaction and Salvaged Fusion Amplifier. My talents where 1-1-2-1-1-2-1, since I struggled with the adds, I just saved my empowered fel rush for em. Overall I had more problems with the phase 2 than phase 1 Good luck all!

@@onur6020 Because of the havoc dh passive Shattered Souls that on kill soul is dropped and you can pick it and it heals you for 20% hp. Spikes are ordinary mobs with low health. So the best scenario is to double jump+ empowered fel rush, so you kill like 5-6+ spikes that each heals you for 20%

Why is nobody talking about the Crusader enchant? Yeah, I know, it's a strength proc and DH doesn't need that. But it's also an insanely powerful healing, which we absolutely need for phase 1. Crusader makes the encounter so much more safe

I would like to say that this guide is good, but honestly I tried this as havoc for an hour and then just gave up. I realized that my success or failure was determined by how good the RNG was on Chaos Strike spawning soul fragments. Not interested in doing a fight/challenge where my success hinges on RNG. I can verify that the first part (pre-arcane) is pretty spot on. After that though *shrug* My ilvl is 237 and I was running with flasks, oil, armor kit, and augment runes. Maybe the vengeance one will be less RNG dependent.

Some good trinkets if you played BfA: Nzoth tank trinket tanks 2-3 frostbolts for p1, Mechagon cylotronic blast trinket is real good for p2.

The biggest issue I have with this fight is bringing the boss close to the middle of the room during his Arcane Barrage cast phase. Unlike when he's casting Frostbolts, he just seems to chain cast the Barrages and never really move where I want him to even after an interrupt. Then when the mirror images phase happens, I'm way too far from him and just get pelted down by the adds. This seems to happen more often than not, and if I have to go from add to add to get to him, I almost always die.

@@Ossiger It doesn't matter. He doesn't get locked out of arcane barrage is what people are saying. He IMMEDIATELY begins to recast it when you interrupt it. It also gets really buggy when you start to use stuns in that phase as well.

The second phase boss just has the tiniest bit too much HP, even if they nerfed it by like 20% this challenge would be perfect. Besides the 2nd bosses HP the fight is very doable.

I had trouble last phase (even though I actualy had bit higher DPS then Dratnos in last phase) untill I watched what he does at the end, you need to delay couple of sec killing last add in every pack, and then you kill boss in last global of him summoning the last adds... way too hard as in Legion DH had like 30% Leech insted of 10% also Netherwalk and leech talent where on diffrent rows.

Not that p1 is all that hard, but I think UBC is better than glaive tempest in p1, not to use fel rush for boss dmg but just because its super easy to have ubc procced for when you fel rush out of the comet storm. It does enough dmg to full heal from leech even out of meta, and any crits are big enough to kill spikes so there's usually still fragments waiting for you the next time the boss ports back. This also makes unleashed power redundant so you can use fel eruption as an extra stop for the boss.

Slowly going through these new challenges. This is the last dps challenge I'm trying, it's super hard. I get killed in about 20 seconds. I can't sustain myself from the frostbolts. I'm interrupting, stunning, etc. But there are times when they're all on cd, then I just start getting hit with frost bolts, and eventually die. What am I doing wrong? Am I not spacing the interrupts enough? Playing Demon Hunter. Did these back in legion, too.

You should be interrupting the frost bolts pretty much on cd. Moving him to the ice shards once you interrupt is definitely something worthwhile as even the leech from cleaving your eye beams and glaive tempest onto them is big much less if they die they give souls.

If you get versa gear you dont interrupt on cd as most say, focus on spawing souls and grab them when you fall bellow 60% hp.

Tried it few times, not having fun. The damage is too high. If I am at 50% hp at the time of comet storm it is difficult to survive, but with 10% leech it is also difficult to keep more than 50% hp.

This is why you want demonic. Eye beam in the comets and you should be able to get through with pretty good health and some practice. 👍

With Demonic Appetite and tanking the boss next to the adds you should never be that low when a comet storm happens. Your leech and souls will easily keep you topped up in this phase.

It was a 50 pull for me in legion and this one was easily 200 this time around, got to p2 5 different times and missed the dps check heavily until I switched to potion of unbridled fury where it did 16k damage on a 172k boss. he states it in the video but it honestly does wonders there.

From my kill I recommend: Phase 1: for talents use standard sub talents for pve with soothing darkness and prey on the weak(extra damage when you kidney him). For spikes I found it easier to shadowstep to the spike on the edge of the circle and just run to the boss. Intermission: you have plenty of time for it imo just kill one image once you go into that phase and check where he is then shawdowstep to an image close to him. I found it helpful to keep vanish for this as well in case you fuck up your shadowsteps you can vanish shadowstrike an image to port to it. Phase 2: swap to crippling poison, shuriken storm and night terrors. Use everything on pull here lust potion and just go ham. Adds are kinda annoying to kill, have a shadow dance up for each wave combined with shuriken storm and blast them asap. Good luck and have fun🍻

Dont be discouraged. It is a stragle for them because they have the relearn the fight from scratch like you and me. Get on it with the mindset that its gonna involve a lot of trial and error. Do it many times, fix your mistakes one at a time, be prepared with buffs be patient and keep in mind that some classes have it easier than other.

yeah give it a few days, we're expecting some nerfs. Very few people can actually dedicate the time necessary to complete this on their mains, and it's even harder on off-specs or alts. Plus you will never out gear it, and many people back in Legion said they'd completed it the second time it was available (when they outgeared it).

That is a fine opinion imo. If you won’t like challenging solo content, that’s fine. I just really hope they don’t nerf it all into the ground because of the people complaining. I find the tuning of the ones I’ve completed, including the Havoc one, very good. I’ve heard Agatha is very undertuned though.

I really only play a little bit on my days off, so I know I wont have the skill required for this challenge. And some people need to learn this lesson, this content wasnt designed for them. Denathrius trinket, you can see the absorb on his HP bar and buff on the top right. (When the shield expires you heal for 200% of the remain shield.)

This is a bad guide if your using your alt since its not optimize at all, hes using a main so he can just survive and provide the needed damage. Heres what you need to do: -Take Unbound Chaos since you want to lifesteal out of the ice cage, instantly tops you. -Also take Fel Eruption since when he teleports away on ice cage with mirrors u can stun him from far and dont get deleted from distance. -Have a low lvl alt grab you heirloom weapons (have them on rank 4 so they go up to lvl 50) and echant them with crusader and send them over, this is a big changer. -Your DH must be atleast lvl 58 since dropping down to lvl 45 won't give you the passives of eye beam reset on meta and haste procs.

I assume it scales gear? If Dratnos barely finishes with 252/259 gear, I don't see how a lesser geared person would make the time/dps check.

The people bitching about the difficulty aren’t using all the tools in their kit. You also need to play around with talents. Use the Heart of Azeroth and Shroud of Resolve cloak for triple stats. I created 2 lheirloom trinkets and heirloom weapons. The Spiced Falcosur Omelette food gives you a nice haste buff. These challenges aren’t meant to be one shot. I like tje difficulty.

Shadowlands Gear sadly scales super bad. Having like mythic Siege of Orgrimmar gear is way better which imo is sad. I know I know its timewalking but still, I kinda see the magetower challange different from timewalking. Bad Job again Blizz. That said I am glad I have 18 out of 36 done, other half will be done tomorrow. Just like in Legion I am enjoying myself again with this buuut it was better in Legion.

Yeah NO thanks. Don’t have that kind of time this time of the year for that bs. If it takes a skilled wow player/creator hours, it would take most player a week for one class/spec. For something that comes around twice a year? Meh, there are other games out there with way more rewarding stuff to do.

It is supposed to be hard. It's not supposed to be an easy achievement the entire playerbase can do. It is intended to be a challenge that rewards skill. That is literally the entire point. If you want easy stuff everyone can do there's a hundred mounts and achievements every expansion which require zero skill.

For some classes it was a bit easier than today because we could use our broken artifact, the gear did not scale down and many people , me included , could just wait a few months to get better gear from next patch and outdps the fight .

they never said they will rework mage tower to feel the exact same as it felt during legion. The classes are different, the rewards are different, the gear is different and so is the challenge, which in this video was proven to be doable and not impossible. If you dont want to put the effort then maybe the reward is not for you. And this is not a bad thing. Not all rewards/achievements in the game should cater to every player. I dont see anyone complaining about mythic raid not been achievable by the whole playerbase for example.
