Training troops was almost same as today except Supcell accepted the fact that players aren’t that smart to figure out upgrading a certain barracks to a troop level will decrease its time because you can train the same troop in all the four barracks all at once

Dead bases don't go to zero trophies. After a set number of consecutive attacks on your base without you logging in the game stops reducing your trophies

Pekkas spinning as their attack animation was probably changed cuz it made them look WAY too agile even tho they were supposed to be in extremely heavy suits of armor that allowed for basically the bare minimum of mobility. I remember that, logged on the next day, and pekkas no longer spinning had me doing that surprised meme reaction of blinking

The one thing I will never forget is the insane amount of waiting time between attacks. I came back to the game recently with my maxed TH10 (now it’s 16?!), and was amazed with all the new QOL updates. It took me a good while to learn what game I was playing 😂 clash has aged like wine

I recently got back in clash of clans after a year or two break and jokingly said to my dad who practically lives off this game "do you remember back in the day when you had to go into each barracks to train a troop and then they grouped the UI but still was individual barracks." I haven't watched this video until the end, yet. But there's something back then only OG Indonesian and Malaysian Clashers remember. Back in the day, there was a clan named Dendam77Beradik with one of its popular player is Angerkey Rikhi (I forgot how it spelled). We called this clan a horror clan because somehow their members could overlap buildings. It became popular because no one could understand how they did it. Thus, makes it seems like creepypasta. And also some speculations that the user Angerkey Rikhi has passed away. But turns out, it was just a bug that made it happen

I remembered back in good old days where we have some group of Clan Members during Clan War that are also not directly in the war are considered Garrison Players. These Players are the support within the clan and the back bone of Clan Castle Donations. Now this is back then where there is no Gem troops donation. But back then, you need to have these guys around and have to coordinate with them within the chat so that we can be effective during Clan Wars. Although it isn’t as important now. I think my Clan still keep this as a tradition, because we got used to this so much that we decided to make it Tradition. But keep it at voluntary. Plus, we keep this tradition so much that we start to recommend my clans to atleast keep the tradition going, and make an excuse like “Save Gems for Building Upgrades” stuff. Oh and during the time where Clan War and Main Base are shared. Our clans decided to make a Unified Adaptable Base (UAB) Basically it is a minor changes but it is adaptable base than can quickly convert into War Base. Yeah good old times. Basically it is simple. Townhall are usually at the center. But in non war time base Resources are at the middle. The base is design with a purpose that. When Clan War take place. You can replace Resource and Town Hall very quickly. This in theory you can have the best of both worlds. Wartime usually last for a day or two at the time. So this convertable is basically design to be convenient on replacing buildings. Now this does have flaws tho. Because this type of base are design to on'y replace resource buildings and Town Hall, which means defenses are pretty much the same. Which also includes the test of the base within the clan. Basically once enemies know the weak point. It all falls apart. It is risky but hey, it is the best we all can do at the time.

Good old days when lvl 1 Archer Queen costed 40k dark elixir, th9 upgrades took a whole month with only option to skip was gems.. When you had to go from barracks to barracks 1 by 1 and train troops here :D

In the Shield info menu thing, there was a note about when the guard ended, the villagers needed some number of hours (most likely 2) of a personal break. If you want a fact about broken stuff in general: clockwork warden on air mode animation is broken. Select the skin and go to your village, when he's floating arround his altar tap him to trigger the animation, it will play half way through and the he stop

I remember not researching the some high-level troops because it made them much more expensive. You’d be already farming well below your highest trophy point, so you didn’t need the extra punch, but armies could easily cost >200k elixer. Or worse, it could cost DE! Absolutely unacceptable, research the stuff you don’t use first.
