Very interesting video! Some Saturn boards have leaky caps. At least one of mine did. After replacing those, it read discs fine again. Same with a PSOne. So while replacing caps is not always the solution for every problem, it might actually help in this case.

@@knortn I'll definitely look into recapping at least the disk drive and see if that helps. It's weird that 3 different lasers didn't work at all
@knortn

@@RetroZero64 could also be an issue with the other pots on the disc drive board being "scratchy". You could try spraying some deoxit on them and then give them a few turns. Mark their positions before doing that. :) I'd definitely also check the caps on the saturn motherboard, while they might not look that bad, they certainly can be, as I had to learn the hard way after trying to diagnose the issue without replacing them first...

Well all I'm going to say is that I hope your family and you continue to use it, play it, archive and preserve whatever is left of those consoles, because 10/20/30 years from now those consoles are going to be collector's/rare items to find and buy, and some consoles are probably going to die off say 40/50 years from now. It's awesome you're able to buy all of that, even my middle class family was only able to afford PS1, PS2, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy Color+Advance+SP, Nintendo DS, DSlite, DSi, 3DS, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360 S, Xbox One S, and PC.

Most of them have dead hard drive. Still possible to change it wit a sd2scsi adapter but it doesn’t mean that it works because this machine has a ton of capacitors and if one or more is down it almost over ( except if you know exactly which capacitors and can change it). I know this because I used to have 2 of these. I still have one dead ( some capacitors are dead but I don’t know which and I don’t want to change 80 capacitors…)
