Ahh the memories.. I worked on Kuhio Ave over in Waikiki. Looks so different now, way more shops. Ride looked like a blast!

Yeah, more of the high end stores came in and it's definitely different from back in the day. We got married in Waikiki back in '96 and the hotel we used changed owners a few times but it's still there. Thanks for watching another one man! 🤙🏻

Been hearing about the fires on Maui. Hope everyone is ok.

The fires were devastating that that one town in particular. The entire town was pretty much burnt to the ground. That's on another island so Bernie and I weren't affected but I do know people who have friends or relatives there. One had to jump in the harbor to escape the flames and they were swimming for 2 hours before being picked up. Crazy man! I'll post some stuff on IG on how people can help if anyone wants to donate or anything. So far they've had at least 36 deaths and over 270 structures that were burnt down. So sad.

We are on a different island so we have not been affected by the fires directly, but we do know some people who live there and lost their homes or are still missing loved ones. It's a really sad situation. They are going to need a lot of help to rebuild. Thanks for checking in on us and thanks for the support! 🤙🏼

Appreciate you sharing your opinion and watching! However you feel about e-bikes, they are here to stay. Do some of the guys ride them fast and with all of the wheelies and stuff? Yeah, but there are those on regular bikes that do the same too. I like being in the back of the pack to stay away from all of that, but I don't have a problem with the e-bikes. To me, if it has wheels, then come on out and ride it! Thanks again for your comment and for watching! 🤙🏻

Ebike are fun, but I enjoy regular pedal bike more. Kinda disheartening to see combination of not only e-bikes but actual motorcycles outnumber pedal bikes in Hawaii. Edit: On a group ride out like this.

I was quite surprised to see how many e-bikes are out here in Hawaii in these rides. But I do see a lot of older people too on them who actually pedal along and use the pedal assist. For some of them, this is the only way they can comfortably get out on a ride so they need an e-bike. But I also see a lot of younger kids on them too which I have mixed feelings about. The safety issue is one. E-bikes can get up in speed pretty fast and if you are inexperienced as a rider, things can go south pretty quickly. I still think there is a place for them though, depending on your situation. At least they are still outside and doing something besides looking at their screens all day!
