When very young, I had the privilege to work for a magnificent Hawaiian "grandpa" boss, cleaning up a beach park after a nasty storm on the big island. This was in the early 1970's. My wise, calm, incredible boss had grown up on Kauai in his family of cattle breeding and rough-rider herding ranchers. He was out on horseback very early morning, when the huge squadron of Japanese aircraft bombers crossed over Kauai on their way to Oahu (Pearl Harbor) on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941. He had never seen anything like that in his life. Since he told me about it so vividly, I have never forgotten him or all that he told me. Turns out it was 177 aircraft crossing over his head.

I stocktended for seven years, shipping their ween-offs to mainland pastures. I’m proud of my time in the industry and working alongside these hardworking ranchers.

Proud Paniolo here in Hawaii of Mexican Portuguese and Spanish descent 🙏🏽 but still people tell us to go back to Mexico especially the white European people who feel entitled.

crazy, lived in Hawaii my whole life. never heard a white person tell a darker skin person to "go back". that wouldn't make any sense.

I had the opportunity to visit Monterrey, California, which is where I learned about the Vaqueros who went to Hawaii.

@13:39 Captain George Beckley; was my Great great great great Grandfather. As a highly trusted advisor to King Kamehameha he helped design the Hae Hawai'i (Hawaiian Flag) for the trading of hawaiian sandalwood in foreign lands. While frequenting Mexico he fought off pirates ☠️ in Mexican waters for the Mexican Govt. and became a respected figure in Mexico as well. Often times his children voyaged with him. They witnessed first-hand The Mexican Vaqueros wrangling up horses 🐎 & cattle🐄 on horseback and shared this knowledge years later with Kamehameha III to help eradicate wild cows.

❤. October 20, 2023. Downey Theatre Makaha Sons. We had a great turn out, we will have more Hawaii music . One year ago, we had Marachi heavy metal which was crap, I demanded my money back, but they promised me Hawaiian and surf music . Than you Downey theatre. I told local folk of the Paniolo: Mexicano cowboys and Mexicanos taught Hawaiian ranch culture, before SPAM.

That’s so cruel, but they did it to tame the animal. Otherwise a Cowboy can get killed.

History ...... Spaniards (Spain is in Europe) settled in Mexico (Mexicans). In other words, "Mexicans" saw cattle and horses before migrating from Spain.

Mongolians we’re riding horses better than any European snd native Americans were riding horses before any Europeans came to steal land so - stop w white supremacy

Guess white folks can’t handle any criticism. My comment was conveniently deleted. Europeans did not ride horse as good as mongols and native Americans were riding horses before any white colonizers settled in Americas.
