Awesome video. The daytime shots were cool but the nighttime was so much better. Especially when you were driving towards the park and you could see the glow in the distance.

Aloha Brian! I totally agree. The glow at night is just mesmerizing! We were sooo friggin excited on that drive. And we almost ran the mile hike to the viewpoint. And to top it off we had NO idea there were going to be huge lava fountains. Bonus. Thanks for watching and commenting bruddah 🤙 Cheers!

Thank you for the 3am trek. Brings back memories of when we were at the military rec cabins in the park in Dec. 2017 and did the same thing… see the glow, got to go, no matter the hour.

It's quite the experience isn't it?I'm when my partner saw the glow she got on Google but couldn't find a single thing about a new eruption. That's when we knew we'd be one of the first. Hawaii has a way of creating once in a lifetime moments... and that's why I'm here 😀 Aloha!

Amazing footage!! Thank you so much for sharing this with the world! Volcanoes are truly fascinating, and in this case, it is not hurting anyone (that we know of).

Thank you for watching, glad you liked it. It's unfortunate you haven't seen it in person... although it's still erupting!

When volcano's create new land, does it go to the state or fed's. I would google, but I want would appreciate your perspective
@HawaiiOffGrid8 күн бұрын
I assume new land is where lava builds up where there wasn't land before... like cliff edges. If it flows to the ocean in Volcanos National Park it would be fed. Anywhere else state I assume. That's just a guess tho Brian. Good question! Mahalo for checking out the channel. Aloha

Kilauea moved house in 2018 from the original caldera.
@mainerFREAK9 күн бұрын
Yeah a section collapsed in 18 and that's when it opened up in lelani. But since then it's returned to the Halema'uma'u Crater of Kilauea has had a few eruptions.

Fun fact- 80% of the big island has been covered by lava in the last 1000 years. Btw, I live only 20 miles away from this.

Honestly the sound of the lava roaring is quite an experience. You can always use the volume feature of whatever device you're using. Mahalo
