Reminds me of my little league days from the 70 's! We lost our state final game 16to 14, back and forth and lots of hits, not so many errors!!

Man I remember playing shortstop in the West Regional way back in 1994 (North Scottsdale LL - representing AZ). It was so fun. We stayed in these cool dorms with the other states and interacted with them on a daily basis. I remember trading “pogs” with the Hawaii team. Such a great experience for these kids!

Four minutes in and I felt like I was watching my 10U rec ball team throw the ball around the infield. At one point, Hawaii had 9 runs on 3 hits. Sheesh. Nerves of playing on a big stage, I suppose, but what an awful display of baseball in those first couple of innings. 7:02. Third base coaches doing what third base coaches do ... nothing. Just a spectator on the field, doing zippo to help his runner read the play. 9 times out of 10, the third base coach may as well not even be there.

Aye be easy.... Coaches have been deciding all star teams based on hitting stats of late. Used to be they took ALL stats into account. Idk when I played we had kept track of fielding percentages(used to be a backstop myself). I don't think that's a thing anymore. Also, unless you practice A LOT after all stars are announced, you're catching all new pitchers. Actually had someone break my thumb in Junior all stars cause I didn't really know how his breaking ball was. Plus, the best players are playing travel and Cal Ripken. You wanna see good baseball from kids? Go watch a Cal Ripken game. These are just kids that play for fun. They ain't as serious as the aforementioned leagues these days.

🤣be easy??? ATFKM I caught for 28 years coached from Tball to college and scouted sending players to colleges all over the country Travel ball has destroyed the game Fundamentals aren’t taught and winning at all costs only develops players who will NEVER be recruited Not to mention all of the little league parents who ruin their kids chances The coaching is very obvious when you look at just the pitchers who become spectators after giving up a hit vs those who’ve been taught the 4C’s 😏 PS I’ve caught 98 mph fastballs and nasty 45 mph knuckle balls if You got crossed up and bruised your thumb 😄 that’s on you

I was also doing GATE classes during that summer... Not all of the kids are out here trying to die for the cause nor were we like "omj that coach is shit" because at 12 you don't know any better. There's competitive spirit and being a douche. Shitting on kids who literally have almost no input on their situation online makes you sound pathetic. Why are you flexing your coaching acumen? Why aren't you in the MLB?? And I really did break my thumb in 3 places .... Shit was tuff. I was actually very disappointed as my main sport was basketball and I missed my teams AAU tryout and had to rejoin for winter. You may notice that Hawaii does not have the 50 stars on its flag. The Union Jack in the top left corner of the Hawaiian flag, Ka Hae Hawaiʻi, honors the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi's historical ties with the British Royal Navy and the pro-British sentiment of its first ruler, King Kamehameha I.

Too much celebration for a home run. Dug out should come out for a game winner, only. To me, it's unsportsmanlike. Too much celebration. Make sense nowadays because of how the professionals act and in this age of everyone gets a participation award. Celebrate raucously after winning. After all, you can hit all the home runs and still lose a game.

All the people refuting your opinion don't understand what you are saying. I feel like it's setting a bad example and is disrespectful. The TikTok generation is all about clout and to hell with who is hurt in the pursuit of that clout. They say "it's a kids game" yet there are people making hundreds of millions of dollars playing this kids game and the original purpose of little league was to teach kids discipline and respect. It seems to have veered away from those standards in more recent years.
@marycrow39395 ай бұрын
@@darklordojeda right? I'm happy kids are out there and playing, rather than being in their rooms all day playing video games. Its just I feel our society is loosing dignity and sportsmanship. Look at the fathers in the crowd--they act like children themselves at the smallest good. My generation, you never saw men act like that. They cheered, of course, but in a manly way. It all seems a bit effeminate. But I love watching these games. I love these young men enjoying life. Just something I've noticed.
