Hawaii VW Scene || Outlaw Garage

Outlaw Garage are in Hawaii checking out the local VW scene and cars. Firstly we have a aircooled VW meet and show where we get to talk to some of the local VW guys and take a closer look at a few cars. Modified VW beetles, buses and even a Type 3 Fastback. There is definitely a style in Hawaii with the VW's. The bugs have great paint and stance with big deep dish chrome shiny wheels, these are not wheels we would be able to keep clean in Melbourne, thats for sure. Its not a California style that these VW's have but a relaxed, clean and laid back style, however, most of these cars have big engines, no 1600's here! We got to see a lovely VW splitscreen dual cab bus with air ride sat on its exhaust. The Kava flowed and we had a great night out.
Next we visited Richard at his shop and took a look at a modified oval window VW Beetle and another dual cab bus under restoration, tubbed and ready for its air ride. Richard then gave us a tour of his 1970 low light bay window bus, again heavily modified. Big engine, air ride, rag top slammed patina ride, this bus has to be one of the coolest low lights around. Richard has had a number of VW's feature in the Hot VWs Magazine which is a great credit to his work.

With a hydralic package, can you add a connection to pump up tires? You guyz amaze me how you can renovate a complete car into works of art!

You could probably do that but in all honestly I probably wouldn't. The kits need setting up and sealing and any variable out let to pump tyres is just another part to fail or leak. I'd carry just carry one of the cheap green Slim flat tyre repair kits that comes with a pump that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Tyre pump and repair kit if you get stuck.
